ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    no spark on 2nd cylinder

ya so im trying to finish my h22 swap and its not getting spark to the second plug. ive changed the plug wires and put in new plugs but i cant seem to find a internal coil cap to replace it with. is it possible that its the cap that could be causing no spark to the 2nd cylinder plug?

...yea i pulled all 4 plugs and tested each one for spark one at a time. the number 2 plug is not sparking. so if its the ignitor then that means my dizzy is bad??

Have you eliminated the cheap stuff first? Use a known good plug and wire hooked to the #2 spot on the dizzy. If still no sparky, move on the $$ stuff. Ignitors are available seperate if thats what is wrong.

No, your dizzy isn't bad. Check the contacts in the cap, make sure they aren't corroded. Make sure the spark plug is gapped correctly. You can try the cap off the F22, I think they are the same (just the cap, not the dizzy). After that, then I would look at maybe ignitor. You double checked all of your connections to the dizzy, right?

Does the car run, but with a miss? Or does it not start at all? Your ignition timing might be off too. I don' think that would make one cylinder not fire at all, though.

yea new plugs gapped correctly. the inside of the cap dosent seem too corroded but i want to replace the cap but im having a hard time finding one locally w/internal coil. all connections seem good, do you mean the connections from tthe harness to the dizz?

the wierd thing was originally the firing order was wrong and it would start and run real rough and die when i let off the gas. now when i changed the firing order to the correct order it dosent start at all, endless cranking. so i checked all the plugs for spark and only the #2 plug has no spark. thats with new wires/plug. it was the same result with the old wires and plug. so maybe i should try the ignitor?

I know it doesn't explain the no fire on 2, but could the timing be jacked up?

Well, since you are getting spark to some of them your ignitor is working. On the connections, I meant the wiring harness plugs that go to the dizzy, yes. How do you know you have the right firing order now? Did you get spark on all 4 plugs the other way?

Check to make sure all of the terminals inside the male end of the spark plug wires (the side that connects to dizzy) aren't pulled up inside the rubber boot. The dizzy cap you can get anywhere just get one for a 2000 civic si and it is a perfect match but not the rotor button

i looked up the correct firing order and im positive the order is correct. i didnt check for spark on all 4 when the order was wrong. i dont remember the order it was in before i just know it was the wrong order cuz when i got the engine from hmotors, all the wires were unplugged. i just plugged in the plug wires to the cap any order for the time being and when i went to start it for the first time i forgot to make sure i had the order right. it ran real rough and wouldnt idle unless i kept on the gas. so i looked up the correct order, changed the plugs and the wires and now this is where im at. i still want to try a new dizz cap but i cant seem to find one w/internal coil. not sure if the cap is gonna make a difference but i need to try something.

Yes you use a 2000 civic si dizzy cap and a 94 prelude vtec rotor button.

The MSD cap I got from summit for my F22 was listed under a 1.5L civic, and I took it off my F22 and put it on my H22A. I think you'll be good. You could always just take it off, get a ride to the parts store, and ask to compare different ones.
