    blackhousing bumper and corner lights

I tried searching for people who've done it and seen a few but not HOW they done it. I picked up some an extra set of bumper lights at pull-a-part and wanna take the lenses out and spraying some "night shades" on em. I've seen the diy thread on blackhousing headlights but those are made of glass and wouldn't melt in the oven. So my question is how can i separate the lenses from the housing?

I've done it. I wish I had used nightshades lol. I used flatblack on the outer reflector part and left the main reflector so it would still shine. I think all I did was heat for a LOT less time and kept an eye on it. Only took a couple of minutes. Actually a LOT easier to take apart than the headlights.

The corner lights are the same...I hear the oem ones are anyway...I've only tried aftermarket ones and I melted 3 sets...the glue just doesnt melt...I think they use some kind of cement lol. Good luck.

I used Niteshades on the chrome housings of the clear 9091 corners I had, and it looked terrible. Fish eyed, bubbled and looked like poo.

I should have just bought the black housed corners from ebay.

I blackhoused my clears on my coupe with flat black and it looked great with the clear reflector. Better than eBay.

But nightshade shouldn't be like that if applied right. Was the temp below 60 or high humidity? Too thick coats maybe?

I dunno. I use vht and it works great.

well i don't wanna spray the reflectors inside. i wanna take off the lense and spray it on the inside of the lense, because i've seen people spray it on the outside but after a while it will look like crap from dirt, road debris, etc.
