Take the grill off, there are 2 hidden screws at the bottom, point a long screwdriver straight down at them thru the holes.

Unscrew the screws that hold the chrome on.

Cut out the center, (I left the "H") you can use a dremel, I used a small, pull-type hacksaw.

Use JB Weld or Plastic Epoxy to rebuild the "V" shaped holes in the frame that are missing from cutting the center out.

                  Sand your fill work smooth.

Put the 2 chrome strips back on (92-93 only?). (I didn't, and filled the screw holes)

                  sand the chrome too.

Paint it. Add some mesh if you want, you can hold it in place from behind with more jbweld or epoxy.

That's what I can remember of the old writeup from MaroonAccord2.2 (I think).

edit: I'm uploading the pics from making mine, and will post them here in a few.
