here's one i did a while back, some may remember it. it's red wrinkle powdercoat with polished accents along with cb7tuner.com logo polished into it. it looked so mother lovin good, i almost kept it for myself, lol. to bad my friend sold all of his powdercoating stuff before i got a chance to get real creative.

here's another i did where i hand sanded the black wrinkle finish from a stock cover and polished the bare metal.

a civic cover, just plain polished:

                  and mine:

                  later.

hey accords91.. hey mad skills man. your way better than i am with the airbrush
i have found when i do get as detailed as you on valve covers.. i don't like the outcome because it takes away from the motor, and becomes a portraite,, i try my hardest not to do that..

typeG ... freakin awsome you have given me some major ideas.. i love them.
they are beautiful and not to carried away.. really accents and says hey look at the whole motor instead of just the valve cover.
                      good job.
These are what i have been looking for, where have all ya'll been hiding.

                        thanks for the compliment.
for the Lord of the ring valve cover, the customer wanted a very detailed design because he using it like a piece of art/decoration in his appartement. maybe he will put the cover on a motor one day but it's not for now..

the second one is very simple and i used monochrome colors so it's fit perfect on his motor. he painted his motor orange and silver.. the base is orange and the head is silver. the valve cover and the motor looking very good in the engine bay and it's not surcharged.

i have to adapt the airbrush job with what the customer want and with my perception of the final result. at first i was thinking that simpliest design will look beter for any engine bay but I found that I can do a very detailed design with monochrome or subtile colors on a valve cover and it look very good as long as it fit with the context. its not like "one receipe fit all" or "simpliest design fit all".. it's an adaptation of a design with the environnement.

keep up your great work, I very like to see custom valve cover
