dont put that junk in your car. they had an NSX owner put that garbage in his car and it caught on fire and he lost his expensive NSX over a 30$ POS..... use LEDs and do it right.

that's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. Who is "they"? Where did you hear this? I also highly doubt a whole car would catch on fire extensively enough to "lose" the whole car from a gauge face. There are numerous fuses in place to prevent such things. If he lost his "expensive NSX" over that either a)he REALLY installed them wrong and majorly effed something up or 2) the vehicles wiring wasnt right in the first place. He would have had to completely bypass any safeguard and fuses and would have had to seriously has his wires crossed.

Secondly who with the money for an NSX would put cheap gauge faces on it anyway? I'm calling BS and please stop spreading ridiculous hearsay and fearmongering.

OP, It's not my stye, but if you want, go for it. I believe possibly the GTO's have them like you are saying but I'm not sure. I have seen some vehicles with red or yellow factory, though.

A sidenote to red gauge faces,

Here's my red bulb color change. You can find red coated bulbs or even order a more 'true' red LED bulbs. I also removed all the blue plastic tint/covers in the back of the cluster/dash buttons. Most of the bulbs simply have blue rubber 'cap' that tints the output color.

Basically everything that lights up in my car is now red -- e.g. high beam indicator, signals, check engine etc.

For the original poster: maybe red bulbs for the top of the cluster housing and white LED bulbs that light the main gauge faces?

Just wanted to give you ideas.

            that looks pretty kool man
but im talking about actually taking off the faces and going to a sign writer and getting them to cut out a face in red vinyl. they will need my original faces to scan so they can make an exact copy to cut...so really i could get any colour face i like but im liking the idea of a red one.
