they sell a neutral safety switch for the viper alarms so you cannot start your car in a gear. its the only way to make sure your safe
did no one see that the sell a safety switch that will only start if its in neutral
Maple50175 - you're annoying =P
Brandoncb7 - I don't mean to come across like an ass but I see why you irritate Aaron now.
JoshM - Crotch rocket = chick magnet.
well I guessi will see when im finish installing it since yall say that the manual trans remote start have to be hooked up to the parking brake. mine does have a turbo timer on it and I will let yall know the outcome when I finish to see if I had a problem or not thank for the help people.

I'm prety sure they work the same way....parking brake on, engine running, key out, door open, then closed, THEN engine off.
If door opens before remote start, remote start is overridden until sequence is repeated.
You can't leave it in gear (car is running), and someone can't put it in gear, and have the remote start work (door switch disables the RS).
All the ones that say "my boi had his start in gear..." didn't have the correct remote start equipment.

it doesnt have to turn on but for a few seconds to do it.
my buddy had a remote in his pocket, leaned on something and activated the remote start sending the car into a wall. his boss had moved the car and left it in gear. you can be as careful as you want, but someone else could fuck your shit up quick.
i will only do it on cars with turbo timers, they have to be put in nuetral.
this is a prime example of why i dont let no one drive my car.
im not saying that there is no ways of accomplishing it. im not saying you cant do it. and im not saying that theres 1000s of people who have remote starts on manual transmissions.
im just stating that its not safe, that is all. if you have a manual transmission specific remote start then congratulations on doing it the right way. but sensors fail, door triggers fail ... shit does happen.

that's understandable I respect your concern toward the situation.
well i thought it was for manual trans but it wasn't that was a different model alarm but this model i have comes with a built-in turbo timer :-), but to get to the point i finished my project "remote start"..lol. i had the service manual where it told me the clutch switch was a pink wire when it really was a purple/black wire but it's ok i got it *wink*
Simple Tap Into The Clutch Wires And Put A Switch Simple On/off Switch For The Bypass..........just Make Sure That Ur Car Is Not In Gear Ok ......ok ....another Safe Precaution U Can Also Use Is A Mecury Switch For Shutting Off In Cause Durring Cranking That The Car Should Move....the Mercury Swith Is And Ball With Metal Moves And Alarm Shuts Off ........................................that Mecury Switch Then Is Taped Into The Shut Off For The Remote Start Wire Usually Is The Brake Pedal Wire.....
Most Remote Starts/ Alarm Need A Some Wires To Tap Into The Car
in my z i made a plate around the shifter with a bunch of reed strips...which activate when a magnet is near.
i jbwelded 4 earth magnets to the shifter stick...this way if its in gear it turns on one of the reed switches telling the car not to start. worked flawlessly.
also you can purhcase the 698m from dei which is a manual transmission start thing where it goes though a sequence.
also as for bypassing the clutch you dont have to. find the wire on the alarm that is "ground when remote start" and its usually a blue wire and it sends a ground to wahtever device you are hookign up. simply tag that to the switched side of the clutch pedal wire...
everytime it remote starts the wire sends a ground and thus completling the circuit for the clutch to operate. also it will still work normall if you try and start the car with the key (you still have to push the pedal down).
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.
You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!
