    Hidden flip out screen?

Hey guys, I'm almost positive I'm ordering my flip-out screen next week, my question is this. I dont work in the best part of town, I have an alarm system, but I wanted to know if any of you guys came up with any ways to "hide" your cd players/DVD players. I have dark tint already, but I dont want theives to see what I have. Suggestions/Ideas would be helpful.

I had head unit in the glove box. have seen others done that way too.
It's really not that hard to rout the wires. just cut a small slit in teh bottom/back of the glove box where it can't be seen.

I saw it down with a flip out screen on some show like Tricked Out or something, cant remember the show. Looked good.

put a news print standing in front of the head unit.. it'll cover thigs up

like asleepz said, radios arent easy to hide..

          RSM, VAFC meters are easier..

I have it rigged so I just pull out the whole radio (to lazy to get the stuff to mount the radio properly, after the last time it got stolen). If you wanted to do some custom work, there is enough room to make the radio inset more into the console. Then make some kind of cover/screen thats just plain black or whatever. Kinda like the cardboard though, if you do it right it would probably look alright.

ive always wanted to get around to taking a piece of black plastic and putting magnets/metal strips on the edges, with magnets inside the corners of the dash trim... magnetic stick-on cover panel. hopefully nobody would bother to break the window just to see if theres anything behind a blank panel

Alright, well, this may be illegal so do it at your own risk. First fab a bracket you can screw into the back of the radio and somewhere into the car. But while the radio is out solder a whole bunch of fishing hooks to the bottom rear of the stereo too. They go into grab and jerk it out, they get hung. They're stuck in your car I heard someone did this somewhere

Use a metal strap in the back of the radio and set it as far back as possible.

Take the stock radio face off and use Velcro to hold it in place when you are not in the vehicle.

Place the face on 4 blocks away from work.

Take it off 4 blocks from work.

Tell no one of your nice radio.

Why dont you buy a unit w/ a detectable face. Or how about u wait until u move, or something if u are that scared. Because once u put it in u goin to be in the window all night.

I'm liking mikes idea with magnets. Just about every car that has been broken into at work doesnt have an alarm system, I have one and I have one LED in each of the front doors. Makes it look like an expensive alarm and so far it has done a good job of detering? the theives. If I were wanting to make a bracket to screw into the back or sides of the radio to make it difficult to get the dvd player out, what would i mount the bracket to inside of the dash?

They don't make detachable face plates for in dash DVD players that I've seen.
