Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    p12 chip?

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Parts...4506.m20.l1116

Normally I don't even look at eBay "chips", but this one looks legit. Would it be worth the $41 bucks?

Fuel and Ignition Tables were remapped and optimized for producing more horsepower and torque.
    *

Revlimit (Red line) was raised to 8000 RPMs.
    *

Top speed governor was removed, allowing the car to reach its natural maximum speed.
    *

At least US 91 Octane fuel (R+M/2), must be used. Recommended rate is US 93 Octane.
Sounds like they just advanced the timing and leaned out the fuel. Messed with the limiters too.

If you kept the stub, you can contact the bank it's from and have them track it or stop payment. They can tell you if it's been cashed or not.

I know this is an old thread but I did a search and this is what it pulled up. In any case I was wondering the same thing? Anyone know if this chip is worth it? I'll be snagging a p12 ecu and figured I'd grab one of these too if its decent.

True 90% of the time because they're just resistors to trick the ECU, however, this one is/was an actual chip, eprom or whatever our ECU uses. You have to remove the OEM chip, solder in a new socket and then pop this chip in. They claim remapped timing and fuel curve as well as an 8k+ redline.

Not everything on ebay is garbage, the trick is weeding it out. I'm not saying this is a good idea, but you can't lump everything together.
