From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

You say you are running a cat, and then mention something after the cat converter...but then you say you have no cat, and it's a straight pipe?

    What do you ACTUALLY have?

Aside from Schrödinger's cat, adding a second resonator will help, you could also remove the muffler and add stainless steel wool to the intake side (used to do this back in the day, but be advised, it will add a little restriction). Chore boy works great, just stuff some in there and try it until you find an sound/performance ratio you're comfortable with.

would it be better to replace the straight pipe with a cat or just a short resononator

why not get a silencer that goes to your tip of your muffler you can make one but idk, you need a stainless steel plate good size enough for your muffler tip, and screw three or two holes in your muffler to hold up the silencer, i did this to mine cuz my Carbon fiber muffler has a loud deep tone, and with the intake installed it sreams deep!!!!...but with the silencer it sound like a normal noise level but you still get your same tone of noise....

on a stock setup...high flow cat won't benefit you, waste of money. If you are turbo or built engine then a WELL BUILT high flow is best...cheapos are a waste of money.

You NEED the cat, a resonator, and a long big muffler to quiet down.

                  check the muffler bearings too

Ditch that straight pipe and get a cat. I got my exhaust off eBay, had the "test pipe" on it, it was loud as shit, put the stock cat back on, its way quieter, sounds like stock exhaust, even with a fart can for a muffler. But I still get the benefit of having 2.25 inch exhaust with a header. The ONLY time it's loud is if I down shift, then its a nice, deep tone

with no resonator or aftermarket resonator will still be loud though i mean louder than the stock being there.
