Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

The stock cat supposedly flows well enough that it isn't worth buying an ebay cat.

from what I have seen, the ebay cats dont have any catylist inside them. They are just test pipes called cats.

i took a look at my exhaust today for the first time. discovered that the shop used a catback piece for my exhaust then welded the whole thing together. so im going to need a cat at one point.

I would personally go with a Catco High Flow cat if you were going to do that. But to be honest, a high flow cat or test pipe even will not give you much of a HP gain. Maybe 1hp...not worth the cost IMO.

ok well my current setup was pieced together by the what was laying around the shop when they fixed my car. so if i dont go catback then i will need to get a new cat. and i figure i might as well get a hi flow one while im at it.

i had the obx high flow cat on both my accords, and i loved the difference in sound they made. so thats my vote.

unless you have turbo or EXTENSIVE n/a mods (like bisi's build or hondafan's white accord) you don't need a high flow.

Do NOT buy cheap high flow or you will not pass emissions...it should be larger than a stock one by far...longer and/or wider...otherwise you're wasting your money.

But really you don't need one, the stock one won't significantly inhibit your hp, increase your exhaust tubing to 2.25" an you'll get a better effect than a high flow cat.

But again, they aren't cheap and if you find a cheap one, avoid it because you will be buying a worthless hunk of metal

To the guy that said a high flow will give you 3hp. I call bs on that. You'd be lucky to see 1hp with a stock motor with simple bolt ones I/H/E. I doubt you'd even see 15hp total from I/H/E on a stock F22...even an H22. You'd maybe see 3hp if you had extensive work done on the car, otherwise don't waste your money.
