Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

how to make an intake manifold

Tell me if I am wrong, to make an intake manifold, you cut the runners a little after the flange and weld tubes of an equal diameter to them. Now for the plenum you take the volume of a cylinder and multiply it by 4, and theres how big your plenum has to be. Make it a free flowing design and there ya go.

Is it really that simple? Whenever I look at custom intakes thats all i can think of.

Well, it seems like you'll need some vacuum ports, mounting places for the throttle body and a couple of other items, but you've got the basics. I think you could make the UP a little bigger without it being too detrimental to performance. You could also make your own flange out of 3/8 - 1/2 inch plate. Or go straight to ITBs.

      sounds interesting,
any pictures of custom Honda intake manifolds?

      EDIT: found a pic

And here is a cleaner one

What the advantage of having an IM like that? Bigger plenum?

exactly what i was talking about.

the only real benefit is that you made it, it's cheaper, you know its durability and all its specs...i dunno, just is really easy it seams so why not.

Yeah I need to make a throttle body plate and tap some holes for my vacuum lines. You could even tap them like in the back so you don't see friggen lines everywhere.

hell you could buy a friggen big ass throttle body from any car and slap that on there as well.
