Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

Are you saying there is a big hole at the bottom of the plenum leading into the IAB plate?

If so, there is not. I just looked at my F22a6 plenum and it has 8 holes leading into the IAB plate (w/8 holes) leading into the runners w/8 entry holes. Same setup as H23. They both have 2 sets of runners at the beginning of the runner section, eventually leading to one large port into the cyl head.

        i doono...when i compared a h23 to the f22

the runners are individual channels from the beggning on the h23

but the f22...they arent individual until they go after the butterflies.
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

ztech: From what you say, you are incorrect I believe...word for word, you're wrong...but perhaps I don't follow you. We are talking about a F22a6 dual runner setup, correct? If you really want me to, I can put this to rest with pictures...but I saw it firsthand since I have both parts and it's not what you describe...if that's enough for y'all

humm i swear i saw it...ill see if i have a picture of it...but to help me, post up the pictures of both manifolds looking inside

lol we are making a big deal of this, i dont know if there is a performance difference though.

i swore i saw each runner individual from the plenum down, unlike the a1 its not individual only at the lower runners

Good shit HondaFan81. Nothing left to say but nice work man. How can someone argue when you have both mani's side by side then posted the pics?

                  F22a6 intake runner pics

Heh, I don't even have to go take pics of my F22a6...Accordztech, you already did in this thread you made. The answer is in your own pics bro.

                  http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthre...threadid=10813

This same intake manifold runner setup with 8 ports/runners below the IAB plate exists on the H23 and the F22a6 also has 8 ports in the plenum, just like the H23. Look at the diagram in your thread, it's right there man.

I have H23 runner/port pics at home, I'm at work...but I really don't think I need to post them to prove my point.

I just want to make one thing noticed...high end power on a honda is not as hard to gain as torque is...remember, we have 4 cylinders with a mild to high compression ratio and a high winding redline...with a longer intake runner, you actually are gaining torque over HP, hence why the H23 has a higher torque rating than the F22a6 (beside the extra tenth of a liter of displacement) I agree the shorter runner on the a6 is nicer for high end gain but torque is what gets you outta the hole and is really one thing that you would wanna try and save on our motors...otherwise, from launch to 3.5-4k, we're nothing. but what if i launch at 3.5-4k lol? I somewhat agree just not with the statement that we have mild to high compression...8.8:1 is not high at all especially for n/a.

Excuse me on that comment...i keep thinking in terms of H series motors...H23's have 9.8/1 C.R. and thats what i keep thinking of...regardless, if you dont have high compression, thats gonna be even harder to get ya outta the hole...and its true, you can launch at 3.5 - 4k, but i think more along the lines of daily driving...you're not launching at every light and 3.5 - 4 k is what normally gets you around town unless you keep your foot in its ass constantly...but to each their own.

IMO the A6 and H23 are similar intake manifolds on the runner end, but not the plenum. Both serve the same purpose, more streetable power. That's what I am going for and that is why I am retaining this IAB setup.

For drag, sure a single runner setup will do ya, but that's not what my objective is.

More proof on the F22a6 intake manifold setup. These are pics I could have taken, but someone already has

With this, there should not be anymore questions on this comparison between F22a6 and H23a1 intake manifold designs.

One really strange, small difference between the 2 are the throttle rotors! I have my H23 plenum + t/b and I was comparing the rotor w/ my F22a6. Don't ask me why, but the H23 throttle rotor is alot bigger than the F22! I'd prob. say that the F22 rotor is 2/3 the size of the H23's. The shape/contour is diff. too, I need to get pics of this!
