Please DO NOT Post In The General Section
From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.
The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.
For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.
Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.
Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

Also, if I read the transmission design info correctly on the internet, it appears as if the automatics in these CB7s are basically manual transmissions with a torque converter in place of the clutch and a stator plate is used to shift the gears - these automatics are not planetary gearsets like the rest of them are. These ones are designed like a manual with three shafts that mount four forward gears and a single reverse gear, using a stator plate powered by hydraulic pressure to shift gears - the first shaft is the drive shaft, which is powered by the crankshaft through the torque converter and has a single gear on it that powers all the other gears. The two remaining shafts both mount the four forward and one reverse gears and both are connected to a limited-slip differential that powers both front wheels at the same time. That also explains why these cars are able to hold their position on slight inclines with no brake pressure.

By the way, my goal with the car is autosound competitions, not performance. I have a Sony head unit, two Sony Xplod 6.5's up front, two Sony 6x9's in back, and its all powered by an MTX Terminator 4-channel outputting 45W RMS. All four speakers are three-ways.Last edited by otacon122; 05-01-2009, 01:14 PM.
