Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    Heat wrap

I have a few questions. First, how much does heat wrap help, really? Is it worth doing? I'm trying to get more power out of a .65 liter engine. Yeah, .65.

Where can I buy it on the cheap? Does it matter how cheap it is? How does it work (sticky back, ie: tape?) How do you apply it?

I have a 3 cyl car so I think this would be a good way to get a bit more power.

    Thanks

You mean header wrap? I have heard good things about it working. Paired with one or more methods of cooling the engine bay it could be one of the most important upgrades to a basic project car.

Heat, in excessive amounts, destroys engines and electrical circuits and wires and anything else not meant to be hot for too long.

And i believe you wet the wrap and then wrap it. then when it dries it hardens a little. they have a spray that helps keep even more heat in with it.

Do you clean the headers first?
This would be an ideal upgrade for this car I think. Not producing tons of heat but in a .65L engine, every upgrade helps
