Please DO NOT Post In The General Section
From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.
The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.
For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.
Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.
Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

I ordered mine from Race Engineering - www.raceeng.com. Great bunch of guys to deal with. Answered all of my questions. Bisimoto Engineering would be another place you could check out as well.
As for bearings I would suggest OEM Honda bearings. Worth spending the money.

Bisi has the best price I've found on pistons , $459 with rings . Race Engineering pistons are $459 , but don't come with rings and the shopping cart list $50 for shipping . Bisi pistons are a minimum of 86mm , so you must bore you F22 block and that just cost me $125 . I don't know if that high or low . Bisi has H beam rods for $339 . I got a set of CRS H beam off Craigslist for 120 shipped , but I think they are about the same price as bisi's if you buy order them . KMS will make your pistons to your spec for 499 , but the rings for them are 100 and then there is shipping . You should be able to get your other stuff like bearings , gaskets , oil and water pump in a kit from Domestic gasket off ebay for about 200 shipped . If you stay with a single cm head you can get bisi valve springs for about 120 and they told me stock retainers worked fine with their springs and you might even have room for on of bisi's regrind cams . So let's see what that comes to bisi piston set (459) and rods (339) Machine shop bore (125) gaskets seals , oil and water pump (200) Bisi springs non VTEC (159) Bisi NON VTEC regrind cam (229) and I would recommend Honda timing (80) and a good MLS head gasket (100) . Thar's about 1700 without shipping a tune and assuming you're not using an F22B1 VTEC . Maybe hold off on the cam and springs til later and that would get you in your budget and give you something to look forward to in a few months . I've sent the last few months researching your exact question for myself , I hope I've helped .

That is a great list for advertised parts prices. One thing you should realize is that it is a competitive market. When your looking to spend more than a few dollars some places may lower their prices based on a competitors. Don't shop plainly by comparing what is advertised on a few websites. I used one websites prices against the others. That's why I ended up going the route I did.
Ask questions, get a feel for the customer service of a few different shops. You never know how much you may be able to save simply by asking a few questions. If it takes them 3 or more days to reply to a query. I take my business elsewhere despite the price. If they don't have the time for you now. Who's to say they will if something happens.Last edited by GhostAccord; 08-03-2009, 01:44 PM.

Agreed , I emailed , PM'd and phoned Bisimoto several times before I was ever able to get an answer on a question about the pistons I want to use , but with F22 bottom end parts you don't have many choices in suppliers . But I've not been able to find an of the places I've ordered from will to negotiate the price . Since it took so much effort on my end to get an answer from Bisimoto do you think I should avoid dealing with them ? But since we are on the subject of saving money , can you make any suggestions on where I could get better prices than the ones I've found . I'll take all the money saving info I can get . I still need low compression F22A1 pistons , turbo H22 cams , H22 valve springs and retainers , an H22 OBD1 distributor , a 38mm BOV , a 3 BAR map sensor and a electronic boost controller . If you got any good sources for any of those parts I listed shoot me a PM , I'd appreciate it .Originally posted by GhostAccord View PostThat is a great list for advertised parts prices. I checked the site and they are listed as 454.00 shipped and doesn't come with rings . It says to buy and use OEM Honda rings . Is there someone I could call to get the price you listed with rings ? I like that they are teflon coated , but at 454 shipped plus OEM Honda rings they would be about 550 total .Originally posted by 93_accord_lx View Postyou can get the pistons from dh-racing for $395 with rings and wrist pins. Rods, valve springs and retainers as well as cam from bisimoto. Go with OEM or ACL for bearings.
Use factory Honda rings, available at your local Honda dealer, as these
pistons are setup for the factory OEM rings.
86mm Turbo F series pistons $454.00 Item total: $454.00 USD

I can't really tell you much more about saving money on parts. I guess I got lucky with my pricing. I was leaning toward Wiseco more than I was Arias. In the end the Wiseco pistons ended up being the less expensive route for what I wanted. If your looking to save money on a particular brand of piston. Your basically going to have to shop around and throw some charm in there....
If your hooked on Arias pistons. I'm pretty sure that Bisi is the way to go. As for his slow response to your query. It's race season and I'm sure they are busy. I have also seen that they have great customer service. It may be slow at times but he stands behind his products. If he has what you are looking for stick with him. Unless you can get the same part for less somewhere else. Shop around......
Good luck price shopping.

Thanks , I worked out the numbers using the CR calculator with the parts I plan using ( including the Bisi 8.2 to1 pistons ) and with the H22 heads 53.8 cc combustion factory head gasket it gave me a 8.00017 to 1 CR and that sounds like a sweet start for a boosted engine . So I was really hoping to not here any negative things about bisimoto cause that's the pistons I want to use . I'll admit , I've gotten inpatient with finishishing my car . I was only spending money on it as I had extra cash , but last week I bit the bullet and just pulled $3500 out of my 401K to buy the rest of the parts . But I'm doing allot more than just the engine . I'm replacing all the suspension bushings with Energy Suspension Bushing Kit , while I'm powder coating all the suspension stuff . I'm considering T.A.S. 90-97 POWER SLOT PLUS FRONT BIG BRAKE KIT also and I've got the parts for my rear disk swap already . I'll be using set of Tein SS/p adjustable dampers with EDFC controllers that I bought a year ago when I first started this upgrade , the car was already boosted but I wanted to do a full built engine . A friend of mine is the Mfactory east coast representative and he's putting one of their LSD's in my tranny when he puts it back together ( it's striped to the bare case right now for powder coating ) . I'm hoping by March it will be finished . I live in North East Tennessee and BMS/Thunder Valley is about 45 minutes from my house and the locals have what is called "Street Fights" there 2 nights a week , most weeks through the summer and I'm hoping to have it all tuned and ready in time for the start of next season .Originally posted by GhostAccord View PostI can't really tell you much more about saving money on parts.
