Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    Gas Mileage Champ

Ok, I have recently acquired an F22A1 with aprox. 140,xxx miles on it. My plan is to rebuild this engine and squeeze the most MPG I can out of it. I am going to be taking measures to reduce weight, and parasitic drag from the engine. I will be running no A/C nor power steering. However, I will be installing a decent audio system, since it will be my main mode of transportation.

I was just looking for some tips or ideas on how to get the best gains in MPG possible.

    Thanks for your help.

If youre gonna daily drive it I'd leave the power steering. I don't know how these cars drive without power steering but Isuzu pickup didn't have power steering and to make a u-turn required me to use both hands to turn the wheel, whereas in my accord I can just palm it and turn. Just my two cents.

Adding an intake and exhaust will help it breathe better which = more mpgs, but I'm sure you already knew that.
We are all ricers, it just depends what flavor rice you are.

Minitrucker by heart, CB7tuner by coincidence.

Yeah, I am going to do an intake, high flow cat, cat-back exhaust, relocate my battery to the back(not for mpg purposes), and ground the engine very well. This guy on another forum I am a part of makes grounding kits and claims 3 mpg more over stock depending on the application. But for $50 bucks I think it would be worth it for just 1 mpg.
