Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    amsoil vs syncromesh

Does our tranny have a preference?

I've read people talking about using motor oil, Honda oem fluid etc...

Any specifically better route then another with an f tranny?

if you are willing to pay the 7+ dollars just go with honda fluid. the tranny's can be really picky about this one thing if you do use the right stuff.

gm syncromesh is actually equal (tho some have claimed it to be superior) to honda MTF for manual trannies. For ATF, always use honda

I am running syncromesh and I love it. I haven't had my transmission installed long enough to give a opinion on the Honda MTF. I have been using the gm fluid for about three months, and I can drive hard and rip all my gears and I rarely get a grind. I say its a good fluid, a bit pricey but you can't go wrong with either fluid.

I'm running GM synchromesh (DIFFERENT than the Pennzoil syncromax crap). From my experience over the last 8k miles with it, it is just as good as Honda MTF in WARM weather. In cold weather it is more notchy than Honda MTF until it warms up. I haven't tried Amsoil but would like to eventually.

If it is not GM synchromesh friction modified version, it is not doing anything better in your trans

Its interesting the Gm product seems to own opinions.

I have a ton of Amsoil in my garage, but Ive read so many times these trannys are particular.

              Gonna go GM, thanks guys!!

GM syncromesh friction modified OR Honda OEM. IMO Honda OEM is a tad better.

I had experience on the GM Synchromesh FM version and my transmission perform better compared to the new honda mtf. If you want to spend a little more for the best oil the Torco will be your choice either the MTF or RTF version.
