Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

match the crank to the rods.

The F22 and H23 crank are identical.

Because of the larger bore of the H series,(that is why an H23 is a 2.3 liter) an H23 crank or F22 crank in an H22 block will make it 2.3 liters.

Here's the deal. Basically you'll be making an H23 just like owequitit said but you'll definitely want to run F22/H23 rods with it. H22 rods will raise your the piston too high and it will hit the head. Those rods are longer due to a shorter stroke the H22 has.

I'll lay it all out for you

F22A/F22B/H23A have the same big 95mm crank
                      H22A has a 90.7mm crank
                      F20A/F20B have a small 88mm crank

                      F's have the 85mm bore
                      H's have the 87mm bore

All *non* DOHC VTEC F's and H's have the same rods
I *think* the F20B and H22A have the same rods

All SOHC F's have basically the same pistons
F20A DOHC has slightly higher compression 85mm pistons
F20B DOHC VTEC has super high comression 85mm pistons
I dunno about the DOHC F22B
H23A has slightly high compression 87mm pistons
H22A has high compression 87mm pistons

You know B's...well the F22A is like a step below the B18A/B as far as compression/technology; the F22B DOHC/H23A is like the B18A/B, and the F20B/H22A is like the B16B/B18Cx...the best way to look at the F22A is to compare it to the D-series tech with the B series blocks if that makes sense.

The JDM F22b has a compression ratio of 9.3:1

The USDM F22B is still 8.8:1

They did this to make sure that all of the USDM cars would run on cheapo 87 octane without needing fancy electronics. And they met thier power targets with the low compression, so...

Does the H22 have a knock sensor? And I won't bore you guys with more all-motor F22 talk but you already know how I feel...

Yes, the H22 has a knock sensor. So does the D16Y8 (only D series, or "pedestrian" Honda that I know of).

I believe that the use of F22/H23 rods is the correct choice.
