Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

thanks, those are Alfa Otto's, they look pretty at night

And back to the cherry bomb, man I think mine sounds freaking awesome, and I actually kinda expected it to sound like crud at first, but it was the cheaper option. Just so happened to sound good, lol.

use it with an existing muffler if its too loud to begin with. It will mellow it out a tad and take out some noise

I use one as well as a resonator. At the end i run a hooker aerochamber muffler...straight through design, but not the best tone at all. I liked my dynomax super turbo better (for mild performance sound). And you'd be surprized at how much a different shapped tip can affect the sound and whether it goes out the back far enough.

Anyways, from further reading...these resonators are highly popular among any application...

          Add a great tone.

It's just getting a nicely tuned muffler at the end that i find hard. Nothing i've had so far has had a sound i've liked. (5zigen fireball...magnaflow dual tip (too BASSY), dynomax super turbo (probably my favorite), hooker aerochamber (mediocre).

If i was to try another, it would be the hooker maxflow, or the borla proXS. On a mustang they were the quietest at idle and part throttle, but moderately loud at WOT, and also flowed the best.

But straight throughs i find are usually too loud for my tastes. I have a nice stereo and like to hear it without becoming uncomfortable...and you'd be surprized how the lows of the exhaust mask out your midbass.
Perhaps the Cherry bomb turbo muffler or some other chambered turbo muffler would suit me well. Just gotta flow enough to not restrict my turbo exhaust...maybe get a 3" version of it or something.
