Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

You do know that that isn't really a Spoon Sports header right?

As far as the ongoing debate on header vs headers,

Header typically refers to the whole unit, like was previously mentioned.

In my mind, if it has multiple cylinder banks then it is entitled to have headers.

If not then it has a header.

This is because a header is a term used to differentiate a standard exhaust manifold from an aftermarket exhaust manifold, but functionally it is heading the exhaust into the exhaust pipe. Since one cylinder head typically has one complete unit peforming this function, and we can't route part of the exhaust and not all of it, it is referred to in the singular.

A HEADER routes the exhaust from one bank of cylinders into the rest of the exhaust system.

HEADERS route the exhaust from mulitple banks into the rest of the exhaust system.

Of course, because of the coloquial (socially accepted) use of the term header and headers, referring to it as a header will go a long way toward earning respect from other tuners, something that every Honda guy could certainly use. Besides, the only ones who typically use that term are noobs, and mainly Honda ones at that.

Even the people who build them refer to them as a header.

Of course, I could just be making stuff up.

You can use whichever term you want, but one makes you sound like you don't know as much about cars.

K yea i know for one their ain't spoon headers...excuse me header lol, i just thought that was intersting having them tack onto the header part.

        header(s) explanation from owequitit
Yea i know they aren't headers, i just go kind of use to saying that because most the ppl around me have the V8 and V6 blocks with the headers on them, so i have come acustom to saying headers. in all actuality of it there is only me and nother guy who is building up his 94 Accord actually driving Honda here. There are some more but very few .

Sorry if i have angered/annoyed/whatever else to ppl who have read me constantly sayings Headers in reference to the CB7 F22A1 engines and so forth with other 4 cylinders.

Yes i know the difference between the single header and multiple headers are since i'm actually in the process of designing one to see what i can do to make it better/smoother with the velocities and stuff. Its in the starting stages atm anyways.

It's not that big of deal, really, just providing some info. I don't have a personal interest in the matter, therefore I take no offense.

Honestly though, you have a very good opportunity to show the guys around you that Hondas aren't just ricer cars with no potential. One reason most people think that is because most of what they see are zit faced teenagers driving Honda Civics with a fart pipe and an intake thinking it is the fastest thing on 2 wheels.

It is an unfortunate reality, but a reality none the less.

LOL! But there is no pressure though.
