i think that there about the same thing but the manual is like a second or 2 faster than the auto

um, the stock accord auto's run about a second slower than the manuals. That is with a good 5spd driver. The h22 autos are quite a bit better than the f22's, and with driver error to account for an h22 auto isn't a bad idea. I Don't think the h22 trannys would have as big of a difference between auto/manual.

between which H22 5spd tranny. LSD or the NON LSD trans? quite a difference between those two as it is. i think people are basing opinions too much on hearsay.Originally posted by SmokinspeedsI Don't think the h22 trannys would have as big of a difference between auto/manual.F22a1-->F22A-->H22A-->auto-2-5spd-->K20 6spd-->F22C 6spd RWD-->4G63 6spd AWD-->K24 6spd????

u guys serious?lmao
my auto h22....was much slower than my manual h22
you can tell the difference in performance
and rof..ive gotten spanked in my auto by many 5 speed cars...which disprovesd that one guys statement...doesnt matter if my auto is consistent if the car im racing is much faster than me...a driving error can play a huge role in a loss or win..BUT if theres no error..the autos getting spanked

I need to find the video of the 5th gen h22 auto vs the prelude h22 manual w/ clutch and blah blah blah and the auto h22 walks the prelude like a car off the line!!!!!! Can someone find that please?
BTW- my auto h22 LSD tranny chirps second gear when I am on the pedal.. BTW- I drive a CE1 wagon.... 3200 lbs baby and I have EVERYTHING in it still on an f22b1.
I will find that video of that sedan in a second.Last edited by da9b16; 01-15-2007, 04:40 PM.

great...your car chirps..that automatically makes it fast?
and great...an auto beat a manual...couldve been drivers error as stated before..
point is...manual>auto..performance wise..i dont care how many videos you find of an auto beating a manual..
im not saying autos CANT beat a manual..im saying that performanc wise id choose a manual car anyday..your in control...a person can make mistakes..so can a tcu..once you get a manual youll understand..i was in denial when i had an auto

Well mister DhN I have owned MORE Honda's than probably anyone on this site so for your dumbass comment you get a big fat WOOO HOOO.
I currently OWN 2 ce1's, a BB, an ef, a cb7, 3 DA9's, one DB1 (that is a 4dr 90-93 teg), one DB2 (that is a 93 gs-r just in case you don't know) and have owned a total of 24 DA tegs, 6 accords, 5 ef's , 2 ek's, and a supra mkIII turbo and a few other cars.....
Owning any manual of course is more fun and YES there is more to be had in the way of performance whether it be ecu's, clutches, etc etc. My comments were not trying to say they are better I am simply saying that they can be just as enjoyable as your standard and do not lose as much power as most think.
You my friend need to stop trying to clown someone who has been building, racing and around the import scene for much longer than most people on the site. I am not here for a BIGGER penis contest or a my car is faster than yours.
Did you have the right TCU with your auto h22 and was yours an auto h22 tranny or did you keep the auto f22??? MAJOR differences. BTW- for some dyno graphs of a STOCK h22 auto pulling 180+whp go check out gt4x on accordtuner.com.... his car is super nice and he is boosting now on 5lbs pulling down 220+whp on a stock h22 auto transmission.
You can put your "KNOW MORE THAN MOST" books away now.

now you are comparing completely different cars. If you wanna go there to argue, the best drag cars use special automatics.
My mostly stock auto f22a1 has chirped many a time to second gear. With the weight of a wagon rear end it will probably chirp even more. Not to mention I doubt youve had much of a dry road here to test on yet lol... We are talking hundredths of a second here... a lot in a 1/4 run, but a mishift would be far worse. All up to the driver. Also, when doing serious mods, auto's unless built really well never let as much power go to the ground as manuals b/c of the ease of clutch/flywheel upgrades. (with the exception again of drag auto transmissions, not that any are made for our cars)

Thanks jeremiah.... I love when logical people bring REAL information to the table. Not just some internet mumbo jumbo..... or "I swapped to manual and autos are slow."Originally posted by Smokinspeedsnow you are comparing completely different cars. All things being equal, a car with a manual would be beaten' by an auto with a locked TC.
As said before, autos shine on drags.WTB - IACV for H22a4.

lmao at this bitch getting butt hurt cause i posted my thoughts..my opinion
smokinspeeds..thanks for putting me in my place..just my experience has been that manuals have been superior...went to a couple of street races/track events...jus seen manuals succeed....im not saying ALL autos are slow or w.e..i kno that drag cars use the special automatics...,BUT thats putting work into the transmission....stock auto vs stock manual..is a diff story imo
dab whatever your corny name is..your a fucking idiot...fucking fly off a cliff with your slow wagon and kill yourself
and ****** yes i had the h22 tranny an auto tcu..I SOLD YOU THE FUCKIGN TCU YOU IDIOT...lmao..take all your "racing credentials" and shove them in the wagon with you..i dont care what youve done..your a sensitive dickhead who got hurt by my opinion..never even said i was right..but smokinspeed proved me wrong without getting butthurt

not that this comment is completely relevant BUT i just doubt that this is a regular thing for ur "mostly stock f22a1". its just very unlikely.
the f22a1 auto just doesnt produce that much power to "chirp" the tires to second gear on "dry" roads. maybe it was wet out? lolF22a1-->F22A-->H22A-->auto-2-5spd-->K20 6spd-->F22C 6spd RWD-->4G63 6spd AWD-->K24 6spd????

Man I know dirt compared to da9b16. Irl he's the coolest cb7tuner I've met so far, he doesn't mean to put you down like you take it. Both of you just chill out man.
This is why I hesitate to go all the way tuning my car, because there are so many theoretical aurguments when niether person means something as a diss or own but we end up with our panties in a bunch b/c this is the internet and we can't tell how a person really means something. I could care less about experience vs. someone elses, I just want to see what a vs b has used/seen/heard about and that's it. I've seen a stock jdm h22a auto that's pushing 190 to the ground in a cb7. Isn't that about what a manual h22 stock would push? I've seen 5spds dyno less than that. Now there might be a loss in time because of the auto tranny shifting slower, but also from what I've seen it seems that our 13-15yr old torque converters slip more with age. My first time at the track in 85F weather my auto ran 16.9's 3 times in a row. With an sr/muffler and that's it. Ppl with 5spds can't always get that. My car is lower milage. Other auto's run high 17's and that's whats posted in the 1/4 mi post somewhere around here by one of the mods, and stock 5spds run *maybe* a high 16, to a mid 17. I think the margin of difference between auto/manual is harder to truely predict consistently because manuals can vary much more b/c condition is harder to tell. I wouldn't hate either one, just state your experience and let ppl infer from that.
Now nobody post *thanks for straightening him/this thread or w/e out*, just post on the topic what you know and let that be that
