Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

what about the bottom half before it exits the engine bay?
    Maple50175 - you're annoying =P
Brandoncb7 - I don't mean to come across like an ass but I see why you irritate Aaron now.
JoshM - Crotch rocket = chick magnet.

Wrapping your header just keeps the heat inside the header, which is good for a turbo exhaust manifold because you want the extra pressure from the heat to spin the turbine, but why would you want to keep heat IN your NA exhaust?
The reason why we have ceramic coatings is to keep the header COOL.

well for those of us that dont have a couple hundred or thousand dollars to blow on a turbo kit, some of us look for ways to get every little bit possible out of our engines, as we ALL know heat soak kills HP, and even though people claim that ceramic coating is all that and a bag of chips it honestly does nothing drastic about radiant heat. I personally decided to go this route because my radiant under hood temps were hot as nuts i could cook eggs on my intake manifold and pipe. I found the header wrap and thought why the hell not and WOW after an all day drive last summer i got out after letting it sit for a little bit idling and i grabbed the intake manifold. and surprise, i didnt have tears of pain from my ridiculously hot IM it was significantly cooler then i tapped the header and to my surprise...my finger prints werent melted off from heat.

BOTTOM LINE: Heat under hood = bad / hot intake temps = bad

and to answer the previous question i wrapped the entire top half of the header and nothing else i wrapped it from the 4 to 2 section but left the 2 to 1 pipe exposed.

i read that before i wrapped my header. the guys posts some interesting points but mostly talks about NASCAR or full race applications not a daily driver that doesnt rev to 10K all the time. I had my wrap on my header for a month now and i love it
