Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

Wow, and I was about to buy one off ebay. Thanks for this info!

I guess I'll go with my second choice, oem clutch.

Idk guys but my first clutch on my H was a xtd stage 2 which i re-used from my F but it worked like a charm. The life of it could have been longer though but I know I beat on it hard.... Im running the xtd stage 4 I think and it works like a charm. It never slips and I launch with it often enough!

XTD also sells very affordable lightened flywheels... which are CLEARLY not oem... so what are they? they appear well built, and ive heard great things about them...

...idk... possibly an isolated incident, possible something that started more recently, where the XTD guy started taking shortcuts to make more profit.

who knows... i mean mine was good, it was the perfect price and its been fine. but i guess next time around this is going to kinda scare me away...
That's what mine is Looked decent when we put it in... of course, by that time, we just wanted to get the damn thing done!

It's been 2 years now... well, it will be in a month, almost exactly. I've had no problems. Of course, I haven't really beaten on it. A stock clutch would probably be just as good... and I've never experienced anything "better" to compare to. It's not dead yet though!

Actually, he's one of the people that swapped from auto to 5 speed and loves it.

When it comes to CB7s, 5 speeds ARE usually faster.

ok now your just going out of context. you were originally talking about which one is faster...not which is more efficient

Auto is good for turbo, because it keeps the engine under load. A well designed automatic can potentially shift faster than a person can shift a manual.

However, as far as CB7s go, auto is not faster, unless the power difference is that significant... or the manual driver is that inadequate.

                                i would beg to differ....

i would like for 2 stock motors of equal power to be set in a cb7.. and then the 5spd tranny upgraded with good stuff, say max spending limit $600 on the tranny.
now pu that $600 in the automatic tranny and then let them race.
that would show the horrible truth that so many refuse to believe. i know we are way off topic.. but you know... that topic has been covered and i like this one better.

sayin auto is worse than a 5spd is like sayin a f22 is worse than a h22.. and in arguing terms i will always place myself on the greater of the 2 evils. i think some can relate with this.
