Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

It is what a lot of new Hondas use stock.

Every production vehicle on the planet has one. I think it's kind of important.
But I am a wee bit What are you trying to say in these two posts? Is it that every new car has a donut/spring setup or flex pipe? I think you may be contradicting yourself in these two posts.

If you buy a quality header that has the rear mount that connects to back of the engine block then you will never have to worry about the header welds.

why would you buy a brand new header and cut it up to get rid og the flexpipe? anyways unless you had to or something?

        Ah, gotcha Ghost.

What I meant was that every production vehicle on the planet has some sort of assembly, whether it be the ball/socket type, or a flex pipe, that allows the exhaust to move independent of the engine.

Even if you have the braket that holds the header to the block which even the cheap ebay ones have........ It will just brake that off first. You need somthing because the engine moves way too much and the exaust doesn't so much. Just replace it with a larger diameter if you care so much about it "killin' maahh horsepowerz"

if you do not have a flex pipe or some other flexible joint you WILL damage either your header, exhaust piping or muffler. The only way it would not happen is if you run solid steel mounts.

or something that holds your engine sturdily without movement.

Yes you need a flex pipe, like stated above it dosn't matter what type as long as it can pivot and reduce stress in the exhaust.

If you look at a stock f22 they rock back quite a bit, polyurathane motor mounts cuts down on the rock giving a little more freedom when it comes to which flex pipe.

But as a word of warning, when i had my custom system built the guy only had flex pipes about half the size of stock, without me knowing he just installed that... and 2 hard pulls later i had tore the bottom out of the flex pipe... making my nice exhaust last a whole 2 days. so make sure its long enough to handle the movement of the engine.
Engines hate me... thats why they commit suicide

I didn't run a flex pipe on my civic. Never had any problems.

you are aware that civics do not use them because they have a flexible joint between the header and the exhaust....?
