Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

that thing looks like it really got smoked and got super hot. you may have also damaged some of the solder tracks with that much heat. you may want to just concider replacing the ecu.

I just repaired a ecu that had slightly worse damage recently. I could probably fix that for you. Let me see if I have the parts to do it.

its hard to tell in the pic and without taking my ecu apart and looking, i'm gonna say it looks like a little transistor. does it have three prongs soldered to the board?

looks like it used to look like this . . .

yeah there are 3 prongs and the number location is r135 I believe..I have more straight edges than the round one...I know does transistors....if you say it looks like a transistor...I have a starting point to look

alright thank you for that note...ok after better looking (it's kinda hard to tell which numbers go with which if they are so close) I"m have to go with Q31 instead because the r135 looks like it closer to that long component

Well I found what this component is and what makes it pop
The q31 transistor number is D1780. It usually pops it the purge solenoid and iat sensor connections arent' in the right place
