Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

what tuning programs do you use and why?

There are many programs available made to help us tune our cars. I would like to know what the members on this board are using, and why you chose to use that. I am more interested in the freeware available, but I would also like to hear about your experience with programs you buy (hondata, logworks, etc...).

CromePro and crome free+freelog when I'm using a different laptop.

CromePro is inexpensive for all it can do. Worth every penny.

Ive been reading up on uberdata. It works with vista (as far as i can tell). I haven't tried to data log with uberdata yet, but I haven't been successful with any of the freeware loggers.

I would leave uberdata alone. I never tried logging with it, but I'm sure it won't be all too great.

You got a new laptop didnt you? have you tried logging with freelog again?

It works awesome whenever I use it.

My car is tuned with EcTune, also free. My tuner was at one point using Crome, but thinks that there are too many problems with the software, and not too many people know about EcTune because I dont think it has been around very long

yea I did. freelog doesn't seem to like vista too much. when it was actually logging it was still slow. 500 milliseconds or something like that.
I cannot get ecu control to log at all.

Crome Pro OBD1, TurboEdit OBD0 and I use Innovate LogWorks2 for all my OBD1 & 2 data logging. I am using the XD-16, 2x LM-1 and an LMA-3 from Innovate so it only makes sense to use there software. A big So far!

I love their program, I just have nothing to post.

And yes, it is not free. There are a few versions of it, and you have to pay for the version that you can actually tune with, but can only tune ONE car.

It is currently only available to a few, hand-selected tuners. They hold the dealer version and can tune anyone.

So you've used that plug-in they made for crome and logworks?

I've read lots of good reviews on that combo.

Makes me want to get an LM-1.
