Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

the right way is always the best way...so whatever normally holds it is best...BUT...

as long as it isn't too tight...I guess it's ok...but don't quote me. I think my 240 had something like that done to it's fuel pump and it worked fine.

    Anyone else?

im not sure about the electrical tape, i wonder if the gas will dissolve the adhesive?

anyway that should be fine. even though the book recommends butt connectors and a ziptie around the body of the pump. as long as it isnt crimping it too tight, its just there to make sure the pump doesnt fall out of the rubber mount at the bottom of the bracket. hose clamp is fine, its not like being metal is going to hurt anything at all, plus its solid.

when i did mine, i took the little rubber bump thats popped into the back of the bracket and flipped it around, so its sticking out the back. then i used a ziptie placed between the bracket, hose, and bump, so that it was centered on the pump, but couldnt slide up or down, or fall off at all.

Ive seen hose clamps/zip ties used on 500-600whp setups for FP's. I wouldnt even bother with tape.

Get rid of the tape. The clap is fine.

The gasoline will definitely eat away at the tape, I'd use a zip-tie, but a metal hose clamp should work fine also.
