Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

Stock map sensor will read up to 11psi.
If you wanted to go over 11psi, you will need to get a 3/4/5 bar map sensor.

Correct. A 2 bar would work to, up to 15 psi.

Get a 3 bar map sensor and get tuned for it.

being that 1 bar is equal to 1 atmospere (14.3 psi) shouldnt that mean that a 2bar should be good for 28.6 psi?

One would think, but it in fact does not. When rating map sensors, they also take into account 1 bar of vacuum.

If you ever deal with a map sensor labeled absolute, it will not take into account the 1 bar of vacuum. A 10 bar absolute sensor like we sold at Haltech, was more for measuring fuel and oil pressure, and would read up to about 150 psi. On the contrary, a 2 bar map sensor reads 15 psi (approximate), 3 bar is 30, 5 bar is 60, etc.

It all goes back to the differences in absolute pressure vs gauge pressure.
