Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    Turbo stumble or hesitation

My car idles and runs great but at the very top of boost in each gear, it has a small stuble or hesitation when your still holding it to the floor before you shift. It only does it and starts doing it at the peak of what ever psi i have it set on, kinda weird and i have done checked my plugs.

Please just throw me some input for you guys that know what your talking about. ive checked a few thing, just havent had time to check everything, kinda stumped, thanks guys.......

blowing your spark out? upgraded your fuel system?

Spark plug gap and you could also datalog to check your fuel/ignition maps on your tune.

What PSI are you running and what MAP sensor are you using?

I also suggested in being related to spark.

He told me last night via email his plugs looked good.

Hes not logging so its sorta hard to take random guesses at whats causing this.

Im with these guys though, sounds spark/ignition related.

The plugs could be brand new, but if his gap is too large and the compression in the cylinder is blowing out the spark that could be his problem. It's not something you could probably tell by looking at them unfortunately.

What does he have his spark plug gap set at is probably the better question, vs how do they look.

Last boosted Honda I tuned did not like the stock 0.044" gap at all. Ended up running a 0.027" IIRC. Should start with a gap of around 0.030" and go from there. Also make sure your heat range is in the ball park as well. Cooler than stock is better with boost.

spark plug reading must be done with new and clean plugs. Older used ones do not give an accurate read.

Usually peak cyln pressures cause sparks to be irradic, and you don't experience that much at the highest rpm. its usualy a fuel issue up there. The highest TQ your car makes(usually 4200-5100 rpm) should be where spark has the greatest tendency to fail. With the highest air flow(not pressure) causing fuel issues like starvation.

Do you add ignition values back in after 5200 rpm?
You could also richen the jetting near the redline(some more pulse width and 1 psi of fuel pressure maybe?). I hope your injector duty cycles have been correctly calculated.

What plug wires do you have? if they are stockers(8k ohms per foot) go to 1.5k per foot or even some MSD's BUT you might want to check your ignition tables. That much drop in resistance will probably change the spark event by a bit so be safe.

I got home and took my 7s out and put my 8s in and the plugs did the trick, runs perfect at high boost now, still dont make sense to me, they looked fine except for the porcelin part, at the top of it to the nut part was a little rusty color but the end where it fires looked fine, thanks guys......
