From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

    front motor mount

been reading up, and found that there are quite a few members running no front motor mount... the pro is obvious, but i am interested in testimony from those members and knowing the cons of it. do you have a lot of wheel hop off of launches? does the engine hold good under hard driving?

I've heard of a member on another forum having problems with the steering linkage or something when he ran no front motor mount. Personally, haven't had any major problems. Bad things: Motor moves WAY too much. When I shift hard, the movement of the motor I guess holds me back for a second. I used to be able to chirp into second easily, now, I can no longer do it.

wheel hop sucks, I made home made polyurthane mounts for the other ones and I still get insane wheel hop, but you can fab up a front mount and still fit the dsm mani atleast it looks that way I was going to do it but accidently threw away my oem mount and now I'm getting a whole new block.

no front motor mount here, and i can still pull off 2.1-2.2 60ft's on street tires. Fill the rest of the mounts. I'm not saying its right, i'm stating whats worked for me.

I got no front mount here, There's no wheel hop nor is there any motor movement. Filling the others up with polyurethane eliminates all that.

I know, but some people don't know that the front of the engine is the timing area so I just go along with it.

stop calling it a motor mount...its not a motor mount, it bears no weight at all.

LOL. Make Eric happy and call it a torque strap. All it does is prevent the motor from rocking.

ok. well if honda put the torque strap there to keep a motor producing 125 hp from moving, i don't understand how how the motor won't shake violently if you are gonna be running nearly 200hp... but you guys know better than i do

Filling the mounts with polyurethane makes the mounts solid. Therefore, the mounts doesn't allow the motor to move. Thats how most of us have been running around with no torque strap. However your cabin will vibrate a little more than usual due to the poly mounts.

how hard is it to change motor mounts?? can you just jack the engine up a little bit and then remove them? because i want to fill them but my dad says motor mounts are a bitch

When I get a welder soon, I'm gonna try to make a "torque bar" that works around the turbo....

I did mine during my engine swap but you can just jack up the engine and and rest it on the jacks. Remove all three and poly them up. Its not easy to get to the mount on the rear crossmember.
