Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

holy shit!!! your using KMS valvesprings??? How??? I origanally ordered valvesprings, retainers, guides and valves from them.
The only thing that fit were the valves. The springs looked like there were off a D series motor... I managed to get them to fit, but with the 272 they were binding. Like 2 months later they sent me new springs. They were the same springs but cut shorter... They didnt bind but there was not enough clearance between windings with the valves fully closed...
I ended up just using new OEM f22a6 valvesprings. I spin my motor to around 7400 and they dont float...
Take your car to the dragstrip!!! Noone around here races anymore!!!

I had no problems using KMS products or their employees. I ordered the springs, and found out while assembling the head that the retainers were needed. I had those sent over and the machine shop used new valve seat locators and I've had no problems since. The valve springs are smaller in diameter than the stockers, but I'm assuming that's for strength reasons. Maybe their product has been "re-engineered" because I remember reading your experiences and being extremely worried.

I'm going to the track tomorrow afternoon. I want a 12.9 on street tires, we'll see if that's do-able. It'll all be up to my launch really.

I see you ran your car at the track. Are you gonna run more boost.
With 12psi and 2.2 60fts my car runs consitant 12.7 at 112+mph... But i run 12-15 on the street... Its good to see people are finally building f22's... For i while i felt like i was the only one... Goodluck with all and keep us posted when you raise the boost.
            Peace

Thanks! Yeah, I didn't report on the numbers because I was bummed about them. All the wheel hop and 1 wheel diff bent the passenger side traction bar and I ran the 13.8. The suspension was jacked in the front to clear the crank pulley and traction bar, so I'm sure that contributed to the wheel hop.

If I run more boost it'll just be to 10psi. I don't want to push this block. The next performance mods are a 2.5" o2 housing, 3" downpipe and an electric cut out. Then I'll retune and I'm sure itll kick the 300whp mark.

The last track day of the season is the 18th. I have my suspension and traction bars straight now and I should have a set of slicks to run on. Now hopefully I can touch the 12's. Thanks for the compliments! Building the F is way cheaper than building an H and they make some serious power.

Sounds like a race to the 12's for me and you, the 18th is also the last track day here, I finaly got my new clutch broken in so I am really trying to go. I may have to work, but hopefully one of us, or both, will run some 12's.

                  Best of luck.
