So I have a Garrett t3/t4 on my h22 and I just finished with the installation. We didnt get much time to tune yet so it's not properly tuned, but I think the turbo itself is bad. It's only tuned at 4psi for now because my clutch needs replacing and my tuner is away for the week, so he tuned it so I can drive around for the week (at least), but it was spooling and making a winding sort of noise. When we were out tuning he said he had never heard that noise before and that it's possible that the turbo is bad. And today it was making that winding sound and then I couldnt even get any boost..none. So I checked all the charge pipes and they were o.k and everything seems to be o.k except I cant get any boost. Does this sound like a bad turbo?

And no the winding noise was not the spooling, it made more of a clanking noise, it defintely doesnt sound right. Anyway I guess I might have to replace my turbo, and I might go with a 60-1 if thats what he has in stock, but Wednesday its going in to get the clutch fixed and I will get them to check the turbo at the same time -
is you waste gate hooked up??? you might just be bypassing the turbo hence the no boostI need NOS... give me one of these... make it 2... oh and hairy... i need it by tonight!

look to see if the impeller is digging into the housing. a misbalanced shaft or bad bearing would cause it, and you'd get a noise and boost issues.....and on the 7th day, deevergote rested and called his mom.Comment
