heh I dont remember my f22 sounding too clicky, but wow does my b18 u can hear it in the car with the music down at a low speed at like 3k but thats just good ol' honda valves no worries.
I would first check your compression before boosting "not related to the sound your describing" and if the numbers on all cyl. are CLOSE and not too low then ide say your good, if they are not so great and close then you might want to go get a leak down test to see if the rings are bad.
I would change my oil every 2000 miles "possibly sooner, check it often" as I did on my cb7-T
avoid heavy boosting at a low RPM EX:flooring it in 5th at 55 "its hell on the rods and rings and wellll.... EVERYTHING.
Since it was my daily driver I never really slammed gears too hard, I just kind of shifted slow to avoid instant boost/load on the engine. "the boost makes up for the time lost in the slow shifts; gotta love it"
Turbo time before shutting off the car, let the engine sit at idle for 1-3 minutes before shutting it off, or just buy a turbo timer if you dont like to wait, turbo timing allows the turbo time to cool down to prevent oil from "coking" in the turbo and then returning to the engine.
Data log your engine and check AIR INTAKE TEMPS. make sure they are not too high to prevent detonation, also it is always safe "yet expensive" to pick up a wideband o2 gauge kit. A standard narrow band o2 sensor and gauge are not very accurate at all.
Do not boost too much on the basemap like I did. I did not blow my engine, but later on realized how bad it could have gotten.
Let your engine warm up FULLY before boosting. Failure to not doing so could badly damage the engine over time.
These are just some tips, I know you probly know most of them, and some of them come from common sense, and it may seem like im explaining it too you like ur not good in the subject but hey I have no idea and I enjoy helping, so let me know if you need to know anything else!
Good Luck with the boosting!!
