Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    cam q

hey i was just wondering what is the best cam in your opinions for the f22's, with a pretty close to stock, or stock motor?

Delta cam's reground 272 is affordable and works fine with a stock engine. Best with an a6 or h23 intake manifold.

Cool? The idle is lopy depending on how my afc is adjusted. A rough idle gets old though, considering it makes you sound all badass and fast but there is nothing fast about an accord with a reground cam.

the bisi stg1 or stg2 will give you the best increase in hp/tq while retaining a smooth idle. A stg2 will absolutely require a tune, not sure about the stg1 but still highly suggest a tune with any aftermarket cam to get the best improvements/driveability.

the 272 with supporting mods has seen nice power increase per buck on the dyno imo...

Agreed, Bisimoto level 1 or 2 F22 cams are best for near stock motor. Get it tuned either way for max potential. They are $229, more expensive than Delta because they are engineered specically for this motor.

Delta cams do improve performance over stock, but are generic regrinds with no engineering for this specific motor. They are about $110-120.

You choose. All depends on your future plans to, the more serious you are about all-motor/nitrous mods in future, the better choice you should make for the cam, as it is a critical component in performance.

One thing that I've noticed to be sort of be a trend with the bisi vs. delta cams is: The delta 260 & bisi stg1, delta 272 & bisi stg2 seem to put out comparable HP numbers. However, the bisi cams put out MUCH better torque numbers and have a wider, more usable power band. This is due to, as HondaFan81 touched on, the R&D that bisimoto has put into his cams for the F22 specifically as compared to the generic profiles that Delta uses.

Ya, honestly it comes down to how much you wanna spend. Considering the fact that you bought an early 90's accord, I wouldn't expect the typical cb7 owner to step up to bisi anything with the more cost effective products on the market.
