Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

ecu tuning and dyno time is out of my budget right now.

i just wanted to know how much the pt6 can take

without replacing it with a tuned p06.

my next question is more towards an ecu topic

    but since im here.

will the pt6 support a stage 1/ level 1 cam for dd?
RIP 4/23/12...lets not forget, the 88" Z31 turbo, are my dailys

If we're under the impression that your lack of desire to put funds into this project to do it correctly will in no way hamper your intentions to do what you want, yes. There is a reason people tune ECUs. They are self-adjusting within a narrow margin from the factory to account for different fuel qualities and temperatures. When you raise compression considerably you are causing it to run significantly outside those parameters. It might work for a while, but after a lean-out moment you may be posting in the Swaps section.

If you now only want the cam/spring upgrade, then sure. But it's still not the right way to do it and you're not going to get the performance you're paying for.

Since you're not going to be taking the proper safeguards you should ask the Chinese dragon spirits emblazoned on your car to be your protector.
My Members' Ride Thread - It's a marathon build, not a sprint. But keep me honest on the update frequency!

IIRC Bisi ran the stage 1 in an F22A with a stock valve train and stock PT6 ECU and posted his gains @ 10%. So to answer your questions. Yes, the Stock PT6 can handle a level1 bisi cam upgrade. as fas as raising compression, as mentioned. The stock timing maps are not designed for a higher compression. that being said, I do not consider 9:1 to be a higher compression than 8.8:1 (.2???) If you want to raise your compression more than that. I would wait until you have the funds for the parts and tuning.

How much the PT6 can take? That's like asking how well you can communicate with a German while speaking French.

As said, it may work within a narrow margin, but it will not be correct. If you beat on the car for a while with significant modifications and a stock ECU, you may end up doing damage.
