Delta 272 install Problems help if experienced!

I've spent the past 9 hours trying to install my 272 regrind I am having trouble getting the rocker arms to line up to the bolt holes. I haven't had any other trouble but this is really starting to get me frustrated. If any of you guys who have installed this and know what I'm talking about, please reply with some suggestions or trick to get all of them lined up. Thanks for the replies in advance!

this really sucks. I could only work on it for like 3 hours, then i had to go to work. 13 hours later still no progress. OF course we aren't working on it anymore...this is just ridiculous. My GSR was way easier and it has two cams....and 8 more rocker arms.

Did u guys accidentally have the rocker arm assembly spread apart on you because you removed the screws??

If the holes don't like up, I bet the rocker arm assembly was either not put back together correctly in order or is not compressed completely how it should be.

well, we got everything back in but my timing belt tensioner bolt was too tight and we accidently rounded it off. I had it towed to a shop to have them just take that bolt out and slip my timing belt over my cam gear. I'm waiting on their call to go pick it up. I have lots of pictures that I'll do a write up on.

what was the cause of your issue as to why the rocker arm assy did not align?

I did take the bolts out and it fell apart. I thought it was straight but I just couldn't get all the holes lined up with the head's holes.

I talked to the guy at the shop that is fixing it and he said it's going to be around $425 for everything. That's just for getting that stupid tensioner bolt off and setting the valve lash (which I was going to do anyways). For that amount of money, I could have paid someone to put the cam in for me. This whole thing has pissed me off extremely and I should've just had someone do it for me.

The only thing I've gained from doing it myself is the experience....which may be worth it in the long run.

well, i got my car back today and It runs great. I found out that They spent extra labor hours adjusting my crank timing. It was off and I don't know how to do that so I felt better spending the money that i did.

actually if you read the post you'll see that we did get the rocker arm assembly back in, it was just a pain in the ass, and harder for one person to do. Once both of us were there to work on it it took a matter of minutes. Just took some tapping with a mallet. I think the trick was just leaving the bolts in, and tightening it in sequence, all of the ones that weren't lining up did after tightening the others.

lol...I think he lost the motivation to do a write-up tho! At least it's running strong.
