I was wondering if you advance the timing by 1-2 degree's will it make more power or just shift the powerband around?

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.
The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.
For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.
Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.
Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

I wouldnt think it would. Your better off buying a delta regrind or something else if you want power.

Id buy a delta 272 over advancing my timing. Plus you get more gains. If you really want to see if it neets you power take it to a dyno and play with the timing. Prob aitn gonna be much change with the f22 motors.

ignition timing and cam timing are two completely different things.
ignition timing controls the time of ignition, aka spark. what does spark have to do with cams?
people always get these two confused.
timing controls when the spark is given off, and cam timing is when you retard or advance the cam to make the valves open earlier or later.

I have my timing advanced and I did feel a difference, even in the low end. Just as an experiement, I retarded the timing and it felt really weak in the low end. I was always under the impression that advancing would give you more high end and retarding would give you more low end, but that's not what I experienced when I retarded the timing I say advance it some.

loosen the three 12mm bolts holding the distributor on and twist it toward the firewall a bit. you can do it when its cold. ive noticed it usually helps out a bit, makes a sluggish f22 feel a little "fresher"... as long as you dont advance it to the point where it starts pinging at all while driving, i dont see how it could harm anything

Anyway I'm guessing advancing the timing would have a noticable effect on fuel consumption. Anyone have any experience with this?
