    Your painting metal.

With good prep sanding and final clear coat, wet sanding is useless.

At what stage are you wet sanding?

Also, it's just the object your painting. If I were painting a car, I would probably wet sand because of the large areas. Just...wet sanding intricate pieces like wheels is not necessary.

      No worries

Yeah it looked alot darker than the stuff i've seen you turn out. The pic of your mirrors that painted still comes to mind lol. I need my whole car to look like that.

          what are you talking about?
          You have no clue.
the more you speak more un-informed you show yourself to be.

if you painted a car you might wetsand...... seriously..........

*sorry* but you have totally struck nerve with me, with useless misinformation you give and i am really holding back from bashing you.

when you paint a car it's metal as well.........

everything thats going to be painted in any manor needs to be wetsanded.

Obviously i didn't sandblast these wheels, so yeah you have to sand every square inch for it to adhere.

even if it had been sandblasted they would have needed to be primed and blocked, including wetsanding before paint,

the only way you shouldn't have to wetsand is if you have them sandblasted and then powder coated..

I've been painting for years, and I know you have to.

I know the correct and proper steps in the painting process.

I'm just saying, I've never seen a difference with wet sanding. You said you spent hours doing so...I felt like you could have avoided all that effort and ended with the same result. That's all.

I'm not questioning your skills. Maybe that's why I struck a nerve......

thanx, untill brake dust is all over them....

and yes you are correct, bare metal would have to take a self etching primer then 2-3 coats of a 2 part primer over the top, then it would have to be wetsanded and painted.
