    obd ll -obd l ????

getting ready to do an h swap in my '90 coupe, and have some questions about obd.

first off i have a '97-'01 h22a4 usdm motor (which is obd ll if i'm correct)

the more i read up on the subject the more confused i get.

obd l injectors differ from obd ll only by the fact that obd l runs of a different ohms setting, hence the resistor box on the drivers side fender.

question is can u run obd ll injectors if u get rid of the resistor box?
what size injectors come on an h22?
will an f22 distributor fit on an h22?
what ecu should i use? (if theres a difference)

think thats it for now, please feel free to add anything not mentioned..

Any help would be greatly appreciated thnx

OBDII injectors can be used if you get rid of the box. They are of a different design though. So OBDI H22 injectors are 345cc/min and OBDII ones are 270cc/min(I think).

All the other questions are most definitely covered over and over in the swap faq.

x2. But I think the obd2 were 285cc. Anyway read the stickies on the top of the thread they are there for a reason.

Yeah, that is what they are. I just knew for sure OBDI injectors are 345cc/min.

i just swapped an OBD2 H22 into my car but lucky for me i had all the OBD1 parts from my first swap ... so i just used OBD1 injectors, external coil distributer from H22, i am using a chipped P28 but you can use a p13, chipped p28 or any ECU that has been convertered to run vtec and is chipped, and whatever the USDM H22 ecu is i forget, to use OBD 2 injector cut clips off obd2 harness and solder onto OBD1 engine harness that you will be using. hope that helps some

so i can use the injector clips off the h22 harness and solder them onto my f22 harness, how would i go about getting rid of the obd l resistor box. can i just unplug it or do i have to rewire that part aswell?

I beleive the easiest solution is to just use your f harness, along with the f rail and injectors, and leave the resistor box alone. From what I have read the f22 dizzy will work but is not as good as an external coil type of dizzy but will get you buy! The next thing is to do the vTec wiring which is a snap thanx to those pictures and some time! lol
Man this swap keeps creeping up on us lol! I am excited! Represent! Lethy crew! turbo f and a h and our "crap" cars both na f, chyea!
Any body care to jump in about the dizzzy situation? I would like to know more about that as I want more spark energy/hotter spark!

I was under the impression that f injectors were smaller than the h.

Injectors are smaller. Harness doesnt matter. Flow is at the injector not the harness.

ok your right on part of it about the harness and the fuel rail but the other part your wrong

no you can not use the f22 injectors...well you could but ask 19accord92 what happens they are too small and will casue you to run uber lean also you cannot use the f22 dizzy it wont even bolt up the only part thats the same about the h22 and f22 dizzy's are the internals

you don't need the crankshaft position sensor for shure.
you also might need that adapter plate for the tranny.

according to the swap faq, cause i have an internal coil i can just plug in the h22 dizzy, does that matter which one it is???
