    Swap done. Idle problems. Help!!

This is the 4th day of my H22a swap. Thanks to this site, i was able to get it done. I have one problem now. Fired the car up an hour ago and somehow burned my external coil. I replace that and then it fired right up. (Great feeling)Sounded good in the beginning, the the idle started jumping from 1000 to 1500. Back and forth it jumped. i am stumped! Everything seems to be hooked up right . Vtec engages at 5000 rpm. Oh yeah, i got P13 ECU with a 92 JDM H22a. I've cleaned and adjusted fitv, iacv, pcv, tps settings. I have no CEL.

Check your coolant level. Bleed it to make sure theres no air in the system.

I am sure to do that tomorrow. But you know something? My friend has a p28 ECU and i tried it on mine. It ran perfect. Idles real good too. Could i have gotten a bad P13? Any way to check?

Since it ran good with a good p28, if you have an access to a known good p13 then I would say this will be the best way to test if your p13 has a problem...

That is my only problem there. I do not know anyone running a P13. I can get my hands on a p6 if all else fails. i hate to spend another couple hundred on an ECU. i Just spent $400 on a catback, Megan header, and Magnafllow street series muffler. I hope bleeding the coolant will do it tomorrow though.

im not sure if this is the problem but sounds like what happened when i used seafoam on my car. i put it through the brake booster and with the vacuum hose un hooked the idle went to exactly 1500 and would drop to exactly 1000 and go up and down between the two. just a thought?

I did seafoam with my stock motor. Worked great. And yeah, i did the idle screw too. i do not think that has anything to do with it. i have read almost everything on this site about idle problems. i really am considering it to be the ECU. Anyone here selling a chipped ECU?

check your p13, I know from experience that a auto p13 in a manual car makes the car idle.. however a manual p13 does not make a difference on a auto car.

check your vacuum lines just in case.

I'm having this same damn issue, sometimes the idle will just sit up at 2,000 rpm...But it perfectly goes from 1000-2000 or 1000 to 1500

and all i did was a tranny swap!
Meh, not feeling the honda game anymore.

champagneaccord: So did your car idle right before the tranny swap? Does it still do it? i bled the coolant today same issue. It first started up and idled fine. When the car got warm then it jumped up and down. Damn! i am pulling my hair out trying to figure this out. My last option is gonna be another ECU.

Sounds like a vacuum issue. I doubt its the ecu.

Well problem solved. i changed and bled the coolant. i think the problem was the idle screw being too open. Adjusted with iacv unplugged and voila!!!1 Runs and idles perfect now. Thanks for the help. I spent all night reading the different threads here.
