    obd2 h22a4 questions

Hey, I got a 99 h22a4 thats going in my 92 ex accord. Already got a obd1 p13, so that part is covered. Just have a few questions...
First, I've been told that I can flip my accord distributor upside down and use it and it will work fine, is this true?
Second, can I not just cut the plug off my f22 distributor and splice it with the obd2 h22 distributor?
Third, I have a f22a6 in my accord currently, and it has a header on it....can I use it on the h22? I've heard that the h22a4 stock exhaust manifold is bigger and you have to cut a small portion of the crossmember.

Other than those things, is there any other problems that a4 owners run into when swapping into a 92-93 chasis. Thanks in advance. I know you guys will help me out...lol.

Oh, and it's probably going to be ready to go in in the next week or two, so I'll definately post up some pics.

You made it to the swap forum but missed the Swap FAQ sticky that is at the top and would have answered all your questions.

        Good luck

Actually, no, I read the swap faq and it didn't answer all of my questions. Theres not a whole lot about the h22a4 swap in there. Well, atleast not the questions I was asking.

Thanks for the info man. Another question though......will the obd2 h22 injectors plug into my accord harness and work correctly or am I gonna have to buy those too?

              I'd suggest reading it again.

              From the Swap FAQ:

              Using an OBD2 engine such as the 97+ H22A4 or Type-S H22A:
The easiest way to accomplish this goal is to use the OBD-1 distributor, Injectors, and ECU. I’m not going to get into converting the OBD-1 Cb7 to OBD-2a since almost no one will be doing this.

                From the Swap FAQ:
Yeah, it says the easiest way to do this is..., not if it's possible to convert the obd2 distributor and injector wiring to fit my obd1 harness. That is what I was asking. I thought forums were for askiing questions. Sorry to have "bothered" you.

I'm sorry for jumping on you, you should ask questions- it is the point of this place, after all. It just seemed to me that you were asking a question that was already answered.

Yes, it is possible, but I believe you have to change the injector resistor box (OBD2 h22A injectors are a different type), and I think that the wiring harness is different. I remember there was a thread about this and I think in the end it was just decided that it would be easier to run an OBD1 setup to save on wiring. Most people do the rewiring of the dizzy and get obd1 injectors because it really is easier.

Cool, thats the answer I was looking for. I'm gonna search and try to figure out how to rewire the distributor then, cause I'm out of money and I'm ready to swap my h22 in seeing as how my f22 is dying...lol. Hopefully, I can get some cheap injectors. Do you have any idea if an injector resistor box will work off any obd1 car. If so, I can just go to the junkyard and grab one off an obd1 civic or accord....oh and the injector plugs too...

If you can get OBD1 injectors, the stock Accord box will work.

what I did was I got the obd2 pig tails for them & replaced the OBD1's for those. it works just fine!

just remember to cut the plug thats for the injector resistor & get all 5 wires & wire them together so its by passed

I think Im one of the few still with the OBD2 injectors

So, if I have the obd2 h22 injector plugs, I can cut those off and use those? Sorry, I'm confused...lol. Then just bypass the box?

                              huh? what those?

you need the OBD2 injector plugs to run OBD2 injectors. just like you need OBD1 injector plugs to run OBD1s

but yeah with OBD2s you bypass the box the way I said
