h22a Auto swap? Should i?

So today i discovered that my head gasket is going on my f22a2. Now my question is what should i do? Should i go to an Auto H22a? New gaskets/rebuild? And how hard would the h22a with manual swap and how much more expensive? I am curious about all this because i would enjoy a running car in the near future lol.

Do you want nearly 200hp with no mods? h22a is your answer.

the swap IS more expensive than the headgasket repair. But if you want that much power quickly and easily then h22 is your best option. Otherwise you'll need to rebuild the f22 a bit more to get to h22 power.

Headgasket is not too exp. of a fix, h22a swap is more expensive but you'll have nearly 200 hp from all stock engine...up to you...good luck

assuming the engine you get is in good shape...you'll need to to t-belt and seals before dropping it in to be safe.

Oh and do you think it will be a better long term investment? Say i get a h22 with 45k miles on it and replace the normal parts would it get me father than say just replacing the top end of my f22? thats my biggest worry is the bottom end of it.

If you want H22, go for it. Otherwise Head gasket replacement should be anywhere from under 200 to 400. (Rough estimate)

Nothing wrong with H22 auto, unless you want a 5 speed. Its not too hard to convert.

Its all about what you want and can afford. If the headgasket hasn't leaked alot of antifreeze into the bottom end, it should be fine. But if you want the fresher, faster engine, go for the H!

If you have money you should do an h swap but you should know that youll need some patients cause swaps don't always go smooth so be prepared to spend more than you planned on and as for tiger since we live on the other side of the rockies its not really worth the hassle to deal with them just give steve a call at hmo and get an h with an auto trans from them.
