H22 Swap is dead....pretty much

Well last night I was driving home, she was running along fine then it started to bogg and then out of nowhere it was pinging VERY badly

I slowed down and popped it into 4th to get the RPM up.
It worked and I got home. I thought nothing of it.

Now I woke up this morning and I go to start it....
It starts and immediatly revs to 3K and dies. I restart it and its missing HORRIBLY, I can barely keep it running with my pedal.
Eventually I keep it running long enough and it starts to run correctly again

Then I give it a tap to 3K and I hear a nasty SCRATCH comeing from under the hood. I pop the hood and I rev it again, the same sound randomly occurs.
I hear it inside the head! Whenever the sound occurs the engine losses power in that spit second.
Best way I can describe it....it sounds like a chuck of metal is floating in my engine.
At the same time I get Code 22: VTEC Pressure Sensor
I took the sensor off and theres nothing inside the sensor....Is there supposed to be?

I'm going to take the VTEC Solenoid off and crank the engine, perhaps the chunk will fly out of the oil passage?
This is my DD, and now I kinda dont have one

Any thoughts guys?
Sorry I still havnt posted pics, this engine went from being perfect to a nightmare in 2 days

Before you fire up the motor again, pop the VC off and see if something is in there floating around.

dude that sucks, well when i changed my belts i fucked somthing up and my auto ten. broke off and i bent my valves, i found a jdm engine for 600! and im putting that in. so what im saying is keep your head up and dont sell her! find a good deal on a engine and swap her! good luck my friend!

Well guys maybe its not dead after all....
I dont know lol
I poured a quart of 20W-50 and 3 quarts of 10W-40 with a quart of Slick 50
She runs great now

Not a single peep and she loves VTEC!
But now my damn VTEC Pressure sensor is bad lol!

No, I just poured heavier oil in it.

i would look for another motor... because all you did was take up the clearance that normal oil has. that means that the bearings are gone and you need a new bottom end. good luck.

It was pinging and you forced it to rev higher? That's like forcing yourself to run faster when you feel a heart attack coming on! Detonation, which is usually what that pinging sound is, will do serious damage if allowed to continue.

I would still keep an eye out for either a new motor, or at least a new bottom end (assuming your head wasn't damaged...) Whatever you did didn't fix the problem... it just prolonged the death of your motor. Even if the problem was a lack of lubrication, damage was most certainly done in the time you spent revving a pinging engine.
