P0F H22a Knock Sensor problem: HELP!!!!

Ok, so after my swap, i had alot of CEL.

Had most of them fixed, but the only one i have now is the Knock Sensor.

Here is how my knock sensor on my block looks like:

Instead of the standard USDM one:

My motor is the Accord Euro-R Motor. Which is a P0F

And after a few months of issues after issues, this is the last string before i pull the plug on the project. I need someone to shed some light on this issue.

I bought a new knock sensor off of amazon.com, and it was listed as the same for many honda vehicles. But it looks nothing like the one that came with my motor, and the thread is too big to fit into the spot where my knock sensor sits.

I read of a bypass, and was thinking of doing it.
Here is the source of the bypass on HT:

I need help with this issue, ASAP.

Have you hooked that one up?

That is not your knock sensor....

the knock sensor is above the oil filter, that is your oil temp sensor, if I remember right.

      Knock Sensors are fun!
What you have pictured under the oil filter in picture #1 is the Oil Pressure Sensor.
If someone sold you that as a Knock Sensor, try to get your money back...
There are only 2 different knock sensors for H22's, yes only 2
      (JDM) or USDM doesnt matter.
(91-95) 92-96 has the sensor you show in pic #2
(96-00) 97-01 has a different knock sensor, with a (I believe) green plug.
It may have a different thread too...idk I have OBD 1

Pretty much the knock sensors change between OBD1 and OBD2
The port above your oil filter (not pictured) would be your knock sensor.
Since your saying your motor is "Euro-R" Im thinking its OBD2 aswell.

As for wiring it, you need to get shielded wiring.
I went and did my whole engine harness for my car, just to find out the CEL kept coming on because the knock sensor wire was receiving interfearance from other electrical.

On my buddys H22 swap we cut a section out of a Auto harness, its shields 2 wires, but we just saudered them together. Works great!

Edit: If its a Euro-R why is there an OBD1 automatic tranny on it?

My oil pressure sensor plug doesnt even reach down that far!

Im using my stock tranny, which blew, and replaced it with another auto tranny.

Can the knock sensor cause the ecu to jump into retard mode and fuck up the tranny? j/w

How the hell do i get a shielded plug for the KS?

I'll check the harness that came with the motor later today after work to see if it has it.

What do you guys mean by shielded though? as in the whole wire has the black wire wrap cover on it all the way to the ecu?

If your useing the F22 harness, then no your oil switch needs to be longer, in order to reach the H22's spot.
The knock sensor doesnt mess with the tranny, that rests with your foot!
They made a special tranny just for the H22's The MP1A or MP0A, these should last longer....

Shielded wiring is found in pretty much all auto electronics.
If you tear apart an engine harness or dash harness, you will find sections of what looks like big wires, but are really 1-5 wires inside of it.
Hondas shielded wiring is wound around the insulator of the wire(s) it shields, youll see silver wires.
The Silver wires are usually grounded somewhere in the harness. For my knock sensor, I have it grounded at the blower motor inside my dash.
If your H22 motor came with an engine harness, theres a knock sensor wire inside of it. You can most likely route this through the foglight grommet, to your ECU.

          Is this getting more confusing?

            Nope, got it!

Found the plug on the harness, got it wired up, but i have to properly ground it.
