well ive had the swap in for a little over a year, it consists of a jdm h22a w/lsd, skunk2 IM and TB. but the original fuel pump started acting up, so today i dropped the tank and installed a new fuel pump assembly with all new hardware. i also changed the spark plugs and fuel filter. my problem ever since we got it all back together is that its spitting and sputtering through the rpms??? im stumped and help would b appreciated.

the check engine light does come on but its only looking for the egr valve that is on the old IM. other than that it throws no codes. My cb7

thats the only time it throws a code too is when its cruising looking for the egr. if u run it hard or harder than normal it never comes on.Originally posted by f22a1accord View Postthe check engine light does come on but its only looking for the egr valve that is on the old IM. other than that it throws no codes. My cb7

after putting quite a few miles on the new fp it has smoothed out a little. not 100% tho. could the injectors be cloged? the motor has 80k on it. ohhh and the o2 sensors were changed when the motor was put in exactly a year ago
by the way, the motor is also still untuned. could it need bigger injectors to compensate for the IM and 68mm tb?Last edited by f22a1accord; 01-02-2012, 01:27 AM.My cb7

NTK or denso.Originally posted by f22a1accord View Postlmao, what brand do i need to get then? and why wouldnt it throw a code?
it wouldnt throw a code because its probably working, just barely and if the ecu sees a signal it wont throw a code. but if it was odbii it would have.
sounds like you need to put your egr back on to start. or get a chipped ecu and delete it from the system. one less thing to worry about.
also, does your tach jump around inaccurately while its sputtering? if so, ignitor.COUPE K24

ahhh that makes since, it is an obd1 so i will pull the o2 sensor and get a new one!e and far as the tach jumping, i have yet to see it and ive been watching it like a hawk because i had the distributor replaced about 3 months ago. as far as tuning and chipping a ecu, it is in my plans but im short on funds for all that. also i cant find an ecuOriginally posted by '93CB7Ex View PostNTK or denso.

ummm
Have you checked fuel pressure?
The o2 should be replaced, with a real one. Have you verified that the only code being thrown is egr?
I say this a lot, maybe we should sticky something on it... But again the most important thing in any situation like this is to first make sure that the way it is running is not hurting your engine.
Please take a second to pull the cylinder #3 plug and look for signs of detonation. Small shiney metal flakes on the white part inside the plug. If you have them please do not drive if possible, and if you must drive, then drive it nicely.
I doubt that you would be running that lean on the stock p13 since it likes to run rich anyway.
The sputtering is what concearns me, that sort of stuff can cause some seriously high detonation risk situations.

Hopefully the filter for your fuel pump didnt fall off on the install. You might have to drop the tank and look again. Are you running the 91 octane for your H? That JDM, she sometimes wants to sip on the really good stuff. Say your running the JDM ecu, i think Japans highest rating for premium fuel is 93.Hybridnation

yes it is ran on 93, and i treat her with respect lol
.
i put it in the shop today and found out that there is NOT a fuel leak so thats a plus, it is running veryy rich. all the plugs are good other than the fact of fuel deposits on them. i checked the o2 and its a denso brand, they put it in when monster motorsports done the swap(and lemme tell ya ive been cleaning up their mess since). but thats the only thing i think it could be, so it will be changed this comming weekend when i put my front springs on, which btw i got the rear on today!!!My cb7
