    Header/downpipe problem *STILL*

Yup so I was almost positive a stock down pipe would connect to the RS*R headers and well it doesnt, flange is larger I was toying with the idea of oblonging the holes on the flange but there is barely any metal to work with and it probably comprimise the integrity. I emailed RS*R but I have a feeling there not gonna help cause it was the JDM RS*R that made it and that was probably 7 years ago. Here are the pics again of what is up with my current down pipe, http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h7...k/IMG_2170.jpg

The flexpipe was cut to sh*t as you can see, it looks a lot worse in person. and not only that the stock dp is a lot bigger cause the stock headers are smaller, if you were to stanf the dp's next to each other the stock ones are about 2 inches
taller. Also the RS*R DP had some makeshift mounting bracket welded to it as if it wasnt actually for the h22a idk maybe I should ditch the headers and get stock ones or cheap aftermarket ones but money is tight with all the parts and work im putting into the swap (replacing everything I want to do it right.). Any advice would be great cause I want to get this motor in by next week tuesday the latest

Junkyard searching is fun!!! not really. As for the RSR take it to a muffler shop and see if they can fix it up a lil?

i've welded worse than that with a wire welder.......all you'd need was to clean up the dp as much as possible where the mess is, then someone can match up a pipe the best they can and just weld it until it's sealed, no big deal
....and on the 7th day, deevergote rested and called his mom.

Junkyard is a type anything you want on the internet to find the smallest scrap of info on RS*R headers and dp for a h22a (caseycokers members ride doesnt count) if you can find info/one for sale i'll paypal you $5(well if you find the dp for sale), and are you purposing I weld flex pipe to that? Cause I really dont want to mutilate a perfectly good downpipe and make some monster dp that doesnt work and will require even more fabrication, I want this to be 100% we were cleaning it up and then my boy the honda-tech said it was pointless cause it was cut up bad and even If we did weld something their we would need to do more fabrication to get it to mount to the cat.

Just like Fizzbob said...this is what muffler shops do. Trust me, they've seen much worse. Take it to them and see what they want you to do with it. They might just cut off the end and weld a new collector and O2 bung in.
