    welp, been lookin' for a thread that had to do with an H22 Auto tranny bein' an advantage on an F22 Auto, rather than havin' the f22 automatic, but I figured I'd throw my 2 cents in cause I've got an Automatic myself. Auto...Manual, in our cars...there's a difference, but the Auto tranny's are also higher geared. You shift from 1st to 2nd (shifting at 6500 to 2nd), i'm back to 4300-4500, so..you're still in your higher horsepower range, yaddah yaddah. Just, if you wanna see a difference. Drive an Automatic Cavalier, then drive a Manual Cavalier. Now there.....is a HUGE difference. My Auto's not fast off the line, but damned if it doesn't pull hard once it's rollin'. I've got just an intake and exhaust, and new tires on the front, and from 1st to 2nd, they bark. I'd say they do a half a tire rotation. (Not shittin' you). Also depends your Cb. If you've got the f22a1, then ehhh. But I, myself...have an F22a6 (almost 20 more horses than the a1), I'd never wanna keep the Auto if I had an A1. I raced a guy with an f22a4 (5 speed), with an intake, and straight back exhaust (gutted his cat), and I had an intake and full exhaust (header back), with no cat. I'd say we raced...6-7 times? He'd pull off the line, but once I got to about 40, I was already catching up, and by 70 I was passing. (kid isn't a bad driver either). Some Auto's are better than Manuals in top end. Suchas, a Cobalt and a Cavalier. Both have the Ecotec in 05'. Girl I dated had an 05 5 speed (2 door, razzi kit, 17' motegi's, blah blah), and a chick in town had an 05' 2 door Automatic cavalier, with a cold air intake. And I'd be damned if I blew this chick away on take off, but from 50-90, by 90, she already had a car and a half on me. I like the Auto, and if I swapped an H22, I'd keep the auto. Just cause, not many people keep their autos when they do the engine swap. it's all up to you man. You want neon lights under your dash, but kids think it's ***, who cares. Cause I've got 'em on mine, and I don't give a shit what anybody says. It's your toy. Play with it whichever way makes you happy. There's kids on here that'll dog you for keepin' the Auto, but then there's some kids that would help you out with whatever you needed.

          Is your Auto an F? That would be the reason. Also you need the TCU for the H.

              Having completed my Auto H22 with corect TCM and Tranny I would not give it up for nothing. Car does not fall out of VTEC either. Now I don't go around looking for teensters to race but I know the car pulls very hard and is a blast to drive.

                Auto Saps A Bit More Than 5 Speed In Terms Of Drivetrain Loss, But Not Horrible. The Most Noticable Loss Is Off The Line. From A Roll, Auto Is Fine.

                  If you aren't going for serious power or 1/4 mile numbers, you'll be satisfied with auto. ATX was fairly quick on the highway, but the one time I saw him run at the track he pulled something horrible like a 16.2 (the launch was terrible... he can do better than that... but still... auto h22 cb7 is not a high 14 second car).
                  This is also what ive been wanting to hear...about what time i would do at the track. u think an auto can make a 15? was the guys cb stripped down or no?

                          you have a p06 tcu?? or p06 ecu???

                          the only tcu that work with the h22 auto are the p19 and the p0n.
                          there is no usdm tcu for the h22, ulness its obd2.
                          i have had both and both did 100% the samething for me.
                          p19 = prelude
                          p0n = sir accord

                            Sure, that would be the P19. I have a H22A.

                              a p0n is from a h22a ,its from a jdm sir accord.

                              i belive the differences were brought up in a thread by blizzard.
                              because the accord sir and prelude both have h22a autos.

                              thing like location of map sensor, throttle body size, power steering pump,and other small things like that.
