Alright im bout to get my engine and i was wondering how big of a difference is a ride with lsd and without? I know lsd makes both tires spin instead of one so does it mean a car with lsd will launch and be better off the line than a car without lsd?

Is LSD worth it?

Yes.
Your launch will improve, since your wheels will both be pulling. A non-LSD setup (which I have...
) would result in a less powerful launch. The first wheel to break loose when launching will get al the power. The open diff puts the power to the wheel with the least resistance, effectively improving your chances of spinning your wheels.
I would say a good LSD is the next best thing to 4wd.

do you just not want 5spd? before, when the swap was just something i wanted, i thought for sure id be getting an a/t. then i was going to get a level10 converter and all that crap. but now, im so happy that i converted, i would never get an auto again.
unless you plan on neutral drops, you probably wont even rev high enough to lose traction off launches. lsd plays more of a vital role in a manual trans.Last edited by DrLove'sKuDang; 05-16-2004, 01:20 AM.

My plan with the car is gettin a auto h22 in ther for about 2Gs first and then decide after if the 5 speed will be worth the 2 gs extra. Cuz i can get the auto h22 for 1400 and the 5 speed motor is like 2300.Basically i dont want to go the full converion with the car yet, im gonna wait and see what a h22 auto can do first.

isnt the engine all the same?? it just matters what tranny you choose. and the thing is, if youre ever going to convert, now is the time. if youre paying for it, its cheaper... and if youre doing it yourself, its easier. while the bay is clear is the best time. and trust me, you can never have enough power. my car has a ton more than it used to, but i still want more. and down the line when you want more power, having that a/t is just going to hinder your performance. if its not an issue of being in a constant stop-n-go, traffic infested city, go manual. think about it this way, converting is a mod right there... less loss through the drivetrain. and hey, no time like the present.

I agree that you should go with the 5 speed swap NOW. I went with the auto h22 when I did my swap, and had it for about 2 years until the pressure plate broke. I then did the manual tranny swap and have never been happier! the car is so much more fun to drive.
Go with the manual h22 with LSD.

I have a JDM H22A with an Auto Tranny with LSD. Could I take the LSD out of the Auto Tranny and place it into a JDM 5 speed H22A tranny? Would it work correctly?Stolen out of Circuit City Parking Lot :
