Please HELP! CEL Code 6 ???

Ok did the JDM H22 w/Manual Trans Swap and P13 ECU , Im getting a code 6 wich Means Coolant Temp Sensor , Ive checked the wiring , Completelly replaces all the sensors , I used the F22 Water Neck so there is 3 sensors now , all my sensors worked on the F motor so I also used those and im getting a code 6 , took out the P13 ecu and stuck in my f22 ECU and it threw same code ... what could this be , I cant understand it im using the F wiring harness and all but right now its got no vtec ofcourse because the temp sensor issue , Ive reset the ecu a bunch and rechecked all the wires , ohm tested the sensors everthing seems to be right but my comp is tellin me there is a bad coolant sensore ... anyone ever come across this ??

    Please Help if you can

    Thanks

you have two of the plugs mixed up. the two green plugs on the engine harness go to the two sensors on the water necks the silver one goes to the sensor underneath the distributor

Thats how it is setup, but does it matter witch one goes to the front or back ?
I extended one of them (greenones) cause it wouldnt reach the F22 water neck ...

You won't throw a code for an air pocket in the system. The sensor that goes on the front neck and the one on the thermostat housing are for the fans, they would not throw a code. The sensor you are refering to is mounted on the head under the distibutor with a two wire plug. It would be near or next to the one wire sensor for the cluster. That one is either not plugged in, or you have it somehow damaged.

That is a strong indicator you have the plugs crossed. If the fan switch was plugged into the ECT which is a resistance type sensor (meaning in order to determine temperature the ECU measures a resistance change) it would turn the fans on since it is completing the circuit. Unplug that sensor and you should see the fans turn off... supposing that's all that's wrong that is, lol.

ok I went ahead and switched the plugs now the one on the front I know is right cause it still had the metal bracket on it from beeing bolted to the water neck bolt , so thats right the questions is I switched the plug on the rear 2 one directly behind dist and one farther back , and the plugs fit fine but still throws a code for some reason ... So my new question is if im about to replace these sensors even thought they tested ok supposedly is there a difference between the sensors themselves ?? and wich one goes where ?

Im confused they use the same shape and size connector but are they totally different kind of sensors ?

                      ok so it sounds simple

Are all 3 of the ECT / Coolant temp sensors the same , when i goto buy them do i need to be specific ?

Im buying all 3 tomorrow and making sure it is not one of those

One is an ECT, the other two are called thermo switches. The H22 only uses one thermo switch and the ECT. I don't think they are bad, I just think you are confusing the plugs. Do you have you're old engine? Couldn't you use the sensors off that one?

Do you have a multi-meter? set it for continuity, put one probe in the ECU plug on the Pin for the ECT and test each of the three plugs till you hear the beep. That's the plug you need to put under the distributor. If you don't hear anything the cable is broken somewhere, if you hear it everywhere, the cable is pinched and grounding out somewhere.

Ok so I had the Coolant temp sensor on the top sensor wich is actually my vtec pressure sensor ... for some reason when we put the plugs on we put the gray plug that goes to the ECT on top instead of on bottom and then the bottom one was a coolant sensor wire .... literally switched the 2 of em and wam no more Code 6 and vtec kicks asssssssssssssssss

Love it , even though like everyhing else I will get used to it and want faster , since it is only a stock H22 from japan with some bolt ons .... but I must say from the f motor there is a huge difference .. well worht it to me for a motor with only 30k on it ... my f was rollin in to 210k soo it was time anyways .....

Thanks again for all ur help , it was a simple wiring problem and I appreciate this site because of people like you guyz tryin to help out ...
