from what I understood from my research when I was looking into this swap was its more trouble than its worth....since its obd2 youd have to change it to obd1....and even then the few people I saw actually complete the swap were still having problems getting it set-up and running correctly....Im also not sure how well the engine mounts up in to our engine bay....I could never find out if its a simple drop in like the h22 is.

The engine would be cheaper than buying an h22 engine....but I think in the end the h22 is just the smarter/easier choice to make....especially if you cant get the f23 to work....then its just straight up wasted money.

I want to get an f23 block and swap an f22b head onto it then boost it.....I think that way would work best since the f22b head is already obd1....Im not sure if its as easy to swap the head over as it is on the f22a1 though....so i stuck with the f22a block.

F23A would be better for boost, since its an F-series, and everyone knows the dreaded H-cylinder walls + boost... blah blah blah. Its a pain in the ass to do first of all because its an OBD2 engine.

Second of all, its a USDM motor, which means there is a much higher chance of the engine having a lot of miles (over 100k), versus of getting a JDM H22 with around 50k miles.

I drove a 6th gen accord with this engine, 5 spd trans. It was slower then fuck. My auto Prelude h22a4 could kill the shit out of that engine.

Someone else mentioned that there have been issues with getting it to run right when installed in a cb7, and the lack of direct swap ability.

So in the end, yeah you may save a few hundred bucks to buy an F23A, but in the end, think about what you get:

                  Less Mileage
                  Faster engine (Way faster)
                  Direct swap
                  Better aftermarket (parts, etc.)
No need to swap dizzy/ecu/knock sensors, etc. to go to obd1

H22 over F23 all the way IMO

Well first of all, f23a is not necessarily USDM, the one I purchased 2 years ago was a JDM unit, 160HP and 145-150tq was claimed. Now I couldnt get it to work but there was one manifold that I didnt try that I think would allow the sensors to work. That is the 94-95 sohc vtec intake mani. Its OBD1 so it might be very simiar as far as sensors go. I overlooked this. But the motor is dirt cheap. So of course H@@ is better but you can do the price/HP ratio.
                    f23a motor and tranny $600/160hp = 3.75/1
                    h22a motor and tranny $1800/200hp = 9/1
WOW huh, now with f23a you have to pay for exhaust custom, intake mani, fuel line, which brings the f23a #s to $1000/160hp = 6.25/1.

F22b1 is less work and pretty much the same motor, only obd I.

F23s and F22b1s are fun little motors, especially if you mill the head to raise the compression.
